Ryan, man, I wished I could be there---you all are going to have a GREAT hunt. Looks like you are gonna get some weather your way.
And don't take no crap off them 4 wheelers.................

Yesterday I was getting ready for the hunt, sighting in the CA .338 Lapua with the Swarovski X5 3.5-18 X 50!

What do you think of the scope?

Glassed up a bunch of rag horns and cows this morning.

Hopefully we will glass up a bigger bull tonight.

What's yours is mine, and what's mine is mine.

Rainy morning and a bit foggy, but already we've seen 7 bulls. One may be a possible shooter....stay tuned

The Passion Palace, can't fool me.

I'm glad to see a Live Hunt from the ever elusive Ryan Avery. I've been trying to get this guy on film for three years. Thanks Tanya for making it happen. I'll be glued to this thread.

Mark-Kelly-Jelly prohibited all funny business in the wall tent, but there's always the shower tent

HA! I just tried to call Ryan's cell phone...thinking that you guys were already back home! Well, I guess now I know that Tanya has yet to pull the trigger and that I didn't miss any of the shenanigans! I wish that I could be there. Have fun and be safe. Have fun with the boys, Tanya. ;)

Luke,
Yep, we are still at it. Ryan must have had his phone turned off. I will try to update as much as possible! It has been fun so far:).

Update-we saw 12 bulls and 27 cows, while waiting for 'the Mac daddy'. UNTIL some VERY nice men also hunting, drove them up and over another ridge. hopefully, they will settle on the smaller bulls and GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY

Last night, we glassed and saw a potential shooter. It was too far off to shoot, but maybe today will wander on over my way. We called it a night last night, just in time for the lightning to start.. This morning, when we awoke it was rainy with thick fog. As we were driving to a potential spot, we ran into a very nice man and his very animated young daughter whom was on her first hunt! They had a flat, so we helped them out, and let them know about some cows we spotted this morning. If she gets one, hopefully she will write about it on the youth forum. From the few minutes talking with her, I can tell you it would be quite a colorful story! Ok, back to me. The fog has started to lift higher up, so I think we will head back up to where the potential shooter was last night, and hope he moved in closer!

I underestimated how lazy people are. People will drive their 4 wheeler right to a place they plan to hunt?!? We witnessed one group try and run the elk down! Complete BS!

Anyways, we are back to the spot where I saw a nice bull last night . I was hoping to be here this morning but like Tanya said, it was fogged in tight.

Side note, if your not glassing with Binos, you should be.

That's the exact same binos and tripod mount that I'm running this year. Definitely a game changer glassing off a tripod.

Hopefully the weather improves. I was fogged in and rained on for most of the day today. Trying to get it done with the muzzleloader in SE ID.
Good luck on your hunt!
