4 wheelers should be banned during hunting season! I know most obey the law but for some reason I am see ALL the assholes that don't.

I could not agree more.

Randy

Lots more good weather----keep looking high.

Before sunrise we hiked up a GINORMOUS mountain. It was not pretty. Unkind words were said. We are currently not on speaking terms. The sun in now starting to come up over the ridge. THANK GOD because it's a tit bit nipply

I underestimated how lazy people are. People will drive their 4 wheeler right to a place they plan to hunt?!? We witnessed one group try and run the elk down! Complete BS!

Anyways, we are back to the spot where I saw a nice bull last night . I was hoping to be here this morning but like Tanya said, it was fogged in tight.

Side note, if your not glassing with Binos, you should be.

Yeah...I try to be open minded...but I can't help thinking violent thoughts whenever I hear or see an ATV. Apparently not everyone enjoys the outdoors the same was as I do?! WTFITLTH? LOL. Keep it up kids.

Huh...that scenario sounds very familiar....Ryan and I must have the same communication skills with our wives, when it comes to explaining the difficulty of the upcoming hike...or your understanding of "we have to climb a mountain" is different than ours. :)

It actually started because I didn't think we would get to the top before sunrise. The hike was kicking my butt, and I didn't want it to be 'all for not'. Anyway We should have followed our dear friend, Mark-Kelly-Jelly whom said "when you are climbing up, don't talk to each other the whole way up". He is a wise man. He has been married a long time. We are terrible at following instructions

This may be the first live hunt I've followed that has me laughing as much as being jealous. I'm a born and raised eastern flatlander who's managed to convince his soon to be flatlander wife that living in the west is the only life worth living. We're planning our move now and I can not wait to explore the mountains with her.

Good luck and go get a "deer"

Ryan is probably still stinging from you winning the "Who wears it better? Contest" and stealing his spotting scope. It might help if you offer to share from time to time.

I will give that 'sharing' idea some thought

Sorry, we haven't been able to update much., the cell service has been spotty. Anywhoo, we saw A LOT of elk, some really nice ones, just a bit too far to shoot 1800-2000 yards. (Hey, I'm no Ryan Avery). We are now to the end of our trip, but will be coming back before the end of the month to shoot THE MAC DADDY! When we get home tonight, Ryan will post up our pics. Thank you all for the encouragement, humor and kind words. It really kept me going

I was actually referring to sharing the spotting scope, but I may try using "share" as a euphemism tonight.

Looking forward your pics. Especially of the ones from later this month with your elk.

Good luck you guys. It's too bad that you have to break down that plush looking field camp.

Tanya or Ryan, are those 11x45 Mavens in the one pic? If so, what is your impression of them compared to the other mid-price range binocs like Razors, Conquests, etc. that you may have tried previously?

You sure you want to take time off the hunt right now? Seems like the pressure has to building all the time......:p
