Thanks for the heads up on the 75%. how much would you recommend?.thanks

I'd say 25-35% or so. They flex more than a steel ring, so they grip will. I'm not sure you even have to lap Talleys but you can.

Check on them often. That aluminum goes fast...

My Talleys (LW and Steel) all came with the proper torx bit wrench to install the bases on the action and top half of the rings to the bottom. No need for me to modify any tools for installation. No history of issues with the many sets I have either, but my rifles are usually just used for predator/varmint hunting in the off season and a bit of range shooting as I very rifle hunt big game.

just a note as a possible reason to not over torque alloy - the expansion / contraction ratio in temp swings is much greater with aluminum than steel I'm told

I'm going to order two pairs up; one for my new Kimber and one for my old Featherweight :)

These are lows on a 84L with a 6x42 Leupold. Too tight for my tastes with the BC caps a no go and went medium. Just for a visual

thanks- I just bought a used Swaro 3-9x36 Z3- should be a little more room; I might give Talley a call and see

the guy I bought the rifle from had a Leupold 3.5-10x42 and went medium and said lows would not have worked, so that jives perfectly with your experience
