Talley base screw head broken off

Cute screw head but not what we needed to see. Let’s try again. Take the base off. That means unscrew the other screw and take the black thing off of the rifle’s action. What you should see is the remaining screw stud sticking up from the receiver (the part of the gun). Carefully put a pair of locking pliers (vice grips), narrow nose if you have them, on what’s left of the screw stud and twist it counter clockwise.
You’re going to have to come over and show me! I understand how basic screws work was just posting this up to see if anyone else has head a head pop off like this. Thanks for the feedback though.

Obviously you don't. You asked in your original post what you should do and people have told you what you should do and what isn't hard to figure out on your own.

It came out with needle nose vise grips after a few tries and busting up most of what was left of the threads. Thanks for the advice without the underlying bs messages

If you're lucky, your gunsmith can get the screw out and you are back in business.

If you're not lucky, getting the screw out will mess up the screw hole and then your gunsmith will need to make all of the screw holes the next size larger.

I was lucky.
