Talley base screw head broken off

If the base is flat- I could see that working. But most of mine are concave- how would you get it off?

Take the other screw(s) out.

Cute screw head but not what we needed to see. Let’s try again. Take the base off. That means unscrew the other screw and take the black thing off of the rifle’s action. What you should see is the remaining screw stud sticking up from the receiver (the part of the gun). Carefully put a pair of locking pliers (vice grips), narrow nose if you have them, on what’s left of the screw stud and twist it counter clockwise.

Obviously you don't. You asked in your original post what you should do and people have told you what you should do and what isn't hard to figure out on your own.

How many Roksliders does it take to unthread a cap screw?

It came out with needle nose vise grips after a few tries and busting up most of what was left of the threads. Thanks for the advice without the underlying bs messages

Apparently only one, but if you had asked me that a few hours ago I would have guessed a whole lot more.

If this is the front screw... it's a bit more complicated. Any others....piece of cake.

If you're lucky, your gunsmith can get the screw out and you are back in business.

If you're not lucky, getting the screw out will mess up the screw hole and then your gunsmith will need to make all of the screw holes the next size larger.
