Let's hear some reviews from guys who have field tested them. I'm in need of a few new covers and was thinking of trying something different than the Armageddon gear covers I have.
Either going with the t&k or the silencerco. If you experience with either or both, please share.

I got a T&K and I love it. My favorite cover I’ve played with so far. They are kind of a pain to tighten up since it’s a strap and buckle compared to pull cord on some. But I do love it and would recommend them.

Why use a cover when hunting? I get it for prs or range use but it seems like you’d never shoot enough to need one in the field

Have you taken a look at Cole-Tac? I bought one from them a few months ago and they’re good to go.

I have 2 Rauch Precision covers that I got a pretty good discount on. I like the construction and the business in general. I was just looking at the T&K covers and gaiters yesterday. Definitely worth a look, but I do not have first hand experience with them.

Their gaiters are awesome. Hands down toughest in the game, definitely not the lightest tho.

Rauch (like most hunting/shooting gear companies) give a Mil/LE/1st Responder discount. Just email them. Super easy to work with.

As far as T&K gaiters… yeah they look like tanks, I was debating on getting a pair for my oldest to try out. He could wear out an anvil. I was wondering if they would be too bulky and loud, or if they’re what we need to actually hold up longer than a year.

I would say they’re more loud than some of the other popular brands, but for me, I seem to only wear them in pretty gross conditions, I don’t think they’re any louder than the weather I am already in, if that makes sense. As far as toughness goes, I wore them two seasons this year and they look brand new. I think they will last me many many years, and I usually do 3 different hunts a year, at least. Now the only complaint I have with them is they’re kind of a pain to put on, they are not a slip on kinda deal, if I put them off, I try not to take them off til the end of the night. And they’re pretty warm.

Makes sense. They definitely look beefy. We can wear gaiters anytime from mid-October all the way until May or early June between hunting, horn hunting and then snowshoeing/climbing some early season peaks. We’ve beat down numerous pairs of Kuiu Yukons and got them warrantied over the years. They’re awesome new, but just simply wear out quick. Peax were similar. The buckle system and strap just wear out.
Thanks for the review. I’ll have to decide if I’m going to get a pair for the boy’s upcoming birthday so he can test drive a pair.
