Of course its legal! after all they're not real people. If they were real they wouldn't be in the same stories as dragons and elves and unicorns and trolls (except shrek, we all know he's a real troll :) ).

L2h, you definitely made my day. I missed this whole thread until an hour ago. Poor amp has to feel left out. Query whether they have midget rental places of various weights and shapes. Might be better than being a midget rustler. Of course, I'm not advocating hurting little people. On that note, I'm going to get some sleep. I know I will sleep better with l2h looking out for us.

...midgets aside, for those of you packing heavy with a bikini frame, how's the lower back pressure?. Kifaru says there is a comfort range given how the frame stays sit against your back. I have a Duplex and unless the bikini fits or rides drastically different, I think I could get a pretty heavy load on the bikini and still be relatively comfortable. Just curious.

Also, do you think the curvature of your back plays into how much discomfort you experience?. I think my flat back stays put less pressure "down and in" and put more downward pressure into the belt and onto my hips. The curve of the normal back profile looks like it would almost set those curves on the "shelf" of a very curved lumbar and transfer some of that pressure down against the curve and not so much into the bottom of the stay pockets.

I know you can't change the curve of your back, but I was just wondering if anyone else has discovered heavy hauling being more comfortable with a flat back....hard to compare, I know, but do you other flat backers experience less pressure than you expected?

Ok to anyone who maybe happens to still be with me here i finally got some pics........ Not very good but oh well self timer had to work. I filled the bottom of my HC4800 with a quilt then loaded in 110 pounds of square weight plates, the weight is up against my back, not in the bottom of the bag. Obviously a different style of weight and set up than my bear bait but not any more comfortable.... In the pictures you can tell I cant stand straight up, and you can tell my dog thinks its hiking time..... Im getting pressure, not comfortable and thats why i figure im doing something wrong in all this. If we need more pics i can get them, the pack is still loaded. I had the shoulder straps tight, load lifters only snugged up a bit. So... Help me stop failing please..............................

Also seems like the longer I had it on the more I leaned in the pics.... They are in order, each time i had to walk over reset timer, reset camera spot, hit button and walk over to the spot. Also had a couple fails in there that made it take longer.

Looks like you need to snug your shoulder strap more or reposition them some maybe tight down you load lifters. I don't think you should have a gap between your back and the bag like that. I don't own that bag so not sure how it adjusts but that's not looking right.

You don't want that gap between the torso pads and your back. Try getting the shoulder straps tighter to bring the pack in close to your back and then use the Lifter straps to bring the load closer and relieve the pressure off of the shoulder straps. I had to switch to a flat back frame because everytime I loaded it up over fifty pounds it would pull away from my back like your picture. Where is the discomfort at?

Amp, you might have done this but youtube KIFARU pack adjustments. Aron/KIFARU have videos of how to properly set up your shoulder straps, belt placement on your hips etc.

If you seen the videos forget what I said.

One thing I noticed right away in the videos is Aron says to keep your sternum strap fairly loose.

With that amount of weight I always lean over no matter how well I got the pack adjusted. Also with that amount of weight I crank down on the load lifters. Just snugged up is fine for going in weights (40-60 pounds) but I have found more comfort when I really crank down on the load lifters with heavy loads. Should bring the pack itself closer to you. Also a 115 pound pack will never be truly "comfortable" so keep that in mind as well.

Like Luke just said heavy weight is never comfortable and i start leaning when the pack is over half my body weight. So anything over 75 and i start leaning. My question is it just uncomfortable or painful? And at what weight do you start having issues?

Definitely this ^^^ What you are doing is effectively changing the angle of your lumbar pad also. Thus, the lumbar pad should be making uneven contact with your lower back and creating a hot spot. If it's not, you certainly need the flat back stays.

Thanks guys, sorry it took so long, and when packing the bear bait I tried mashing up and entirely letting off the load lifters and shoulder straps, and each combo of the two i could think of. Its not just a "damn thats heavy" discomfort, its a damn thats painful as hell deal. Lower into the 60's i dont even realize its on, havent tried much in between 60 and 100. I was curious about lumbar pads but more than anything was the stays, was wondering if i should have had a different stay for my back. I will watch the adjustment video again, i had watched it, but it kinda went over my head i think....also the pain is pretty much anywhere the pack comes near on my lower back, lumbar pad out to about my hip bone feels like a motorcross wreck or two ive endured. Granted i still packed the bear bait about 4 miles in that day soo its still doable, just hoping to find more of a enjoyable setting.

What NVCHUKAR and slim9300 said...if it was me though and after spending all this time trying to get it right...I would call Aron...I am sure you can find his number floating around the internet somewhere.
