SWFA Black Friday

Link to those???

I’m sure any 7/8” leg tip caps at your local hardware store would work…

A long long time ago, in a land pre covid, Form talked me into a 3-9 SWFA. I've had several since then and still have one now, though its currently not on a rifle. For the weight its still the best bang for the buck especially so at $499 on sale.

Ha!

Where have you been man?

Looks like SWFA has thirty 3-9s left (max the sight will let me add to cart.

I bet they sell out.
That's the max it'll put in your cart, I don't think it's how many they actually have. So until they have less than 30, it's only going to add 30 to your cart. I checked the same thing a week ago and it was only adding 30, there's definitely been a pile sold today and it's still doing the same.

Well just placed an order for another 3-9. Shot and hunted with one a ton this year and became a big fan of it.

For those that use the 3-9 and 3-15 back to back, do you notice much difference outside the zoom and parallax?

Originally was going to get two 3-15 (one for 223 trainer while other goes on hunting 6.5) but now thinking 3-9 on the trainer. Currently trainer has 10x SWFA and hunting has RS1.2. Most shooting is done between 6-10x but zoom into 15x to field judge an animal is useful for me

Did you go back through this (now lengthy) thread? I think that's pretty much been answered.

In summary - quality is the same, reticle is a hair thicker on the 3-9. Best all-round hunting 3-9 on the market (Form post), Parallax if you're going to consider using it with 22 lr on the range. That's really it. I wrestled same as you and went 3-9.

Yeah I’ve followed along with the thread since new. I agree the 3-9 is the best all around. But 3-15 is almost a necessity for me because I get shaky with binos before I shot and often times don’t want to whip out the tripod or have the time.
But behind the rifle I’m calm and collected and the 15x (currently maven) helps decide if I want to shoot or pass a certain buck/bull before zooming out to shoot

I’m just now going back and thinking maybe 3-9 for trainer and 3-15 for hunting rifle to hopefully match the trainer and hunter but wanted opinions on if they are close enough or if they won’t feel the same

Same size as the fixed power scopes?

My hunter is a Maven RS1.2. Love it, but hate the weight/balance point (Tikka on RS). I went 3-9 for the trainer at midnight. Can always resell here if you don't like it. Def get your point about having the extra magnification for identification, but that also implies you'll be hunting with it.

The "matching" concept was refuted somewhere recently (this thread or another, don't remember now), it's more about your OCD :).

Just ordered a 10x MQ.

I think I'm going to post my MOA 10x for trade in the classifieds hoping maybe someone who prefers MOA wants to do a swap.

Kinda wanna get one of those even though I already ordered two 3-9s. Would be a good temporary optic, and then an excellent backup scope
