I took out my little tactical pack for a test drive. It's a little 1500ci scouting pack. It has an internal "flat" back on it like most of them have along with a standard belt. It's in the 50's and 10 minutes into my hike my back is soaked! I'm fine, except for my back.. For the next couple days of my hunt my back was never not sweaty again lol..

Anyone else have this problem?

Guess I need to convert my day pack to something where the shoulder harness/pads and lumbar support are the only things touching my back to allow for more ventilation instead of a big square? Like a typical eberlestock style or something?

It doesn't matter what kind of frame I use, my back gets sweaty when I'm pushing hard. Not sure you're going to find anything that works really well.

Well, I've done the same trip with my old Exo pack and before that an Eberlestock X2.. Sure, my back gets a little bit sweaty, but by that time I'm just a little bit sweaty everywhere..

This was different. I wasn't sweaty at all, barely even started hiking and my entire back was soaked! Think I just need a different pack that sits off my back a little bit...

I sweat some on all packs. Nature of the beast. I think it is more about the type of material back there.

Thats one of the reasons I use the same pack for everything. Compress it down and your 6000 cu pack carries just fine for a day pack.

I have the same problem. If my packs have more than a little contact or are not mesh backed I get super sweaty too.
