Guessing as new guy here you have supreme confidence in Leu?This makes me laugh ...
Another brand new guy here who also is looking at those two brands. Don’t own any Leupold but have 5 older Swarovski scopes that have held their zero for decades.
I haven’t purchased any new ones because their reticles seemed to get a little too fine over the years but want to pick up an hunting scope with an illuminated simple reticle.
I actually got to handle the new Swarovski Z5i+ at Sportsman’s Warehouse and it seemed very nice. Very clear, good eye relief and I could see the reticle fine. It was the 4w-I I believe.
One thing that seemed a little “cheap” was the different colored dots for yardages on the elevation turret but was told they could be changed out.
I also looked at the VX6hd gen 1Leupold and it also seemed very well made. Very clear and I could see the reticle just fine. I was interested in seeing the newest generation but they don’t have them yet.
So what exactly is the negative response to asking about these new scopes. Is there a problem with them holding zero or returning to zero when you make adjustments?
$20 if you film yourself drop testing oneA lot of Swarovski haters here. I own multiple swaro’s and am hard on my rifles in the field. Never had an issue in 20 plus years.
I am not saying others haven’t but I am guessing many claims are unfounded.
I read that thread and when I got to post #25 is said Trijicon replaced two scopes back to back because they failed. Looks like they stand behind their products if you get a bad one.Neither one. Buy this:

This is a field evaluation of the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44mm F1 scope. This scope was brought to me from Ryan Avery for an evaluation. It was personally purchased. The ammunition used was Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr that was purchased by Ryan. Multiple ten round round groups with this lot of ammunition proved to be between .8-1.3 moa, with nothing larger than 1.5” at 103 yards.
The scope and weight-
Because we mounted the scope immediately after removing another scope from the rings (the rings never came off the rifle) I did not weigh the scope- Ryan did and said it weighed...
