I was looking at getting one of these two scopes. I was thinking the 3.5-18x50 Swaro and 4-22x52 on the leupold. Any advice or experience with these newer scopes?

No blind confidence in either, just interesting to hear from people that have used them.

Another brand new guy here who also is looking at those two brands. Don’t own any Leupold but have 5 older Swarovski scopes that have held their zero for decades.
I haven’t purchased any new ones because their reticles seemed to get a little too fine over the years but want to pick up an hunting scope with an illuminated simple reticle.

I actually got to handle the new Swarovski Z5i+ at Sportsman’s Warehouse and it seemed very nice. Very clear, good eye relief and I could see the reticle fine. It was the 4w-I I believe.

One thing that seemed a little “cheap” was the different colored dots for yardages on the elevation turret but was told they could be changed out.

I also looked at the VX6hd gen 1Leupold and it also seemed very well made. Very clear and I could see the reticle just fine. I was interested in seeing the newest generation but they don’t have them yet.

So what exactly is the negative response to asking about these new scopes. Is there a problem with them holding zero or returning to zero when you make adjustments?

Neither one. Buy this:

The 4 colored rings are on there because Swaro has used that marking system forever. The scope ships with a 40 MOA engraved ring in the box, but not mounted on the scope. You can see it in the video.

A lot of Swarovski haters here. I own multiple swaro’s and am hard on my rifles in the field. Never had an issue in 20 plus years.

I am not saying others haven’t but I am guessing many claims are unfounded.
$20 if you film yourself drop testing one

I read that thread and when I got to post #25 is said Trijicon replaced two scopes back to back because they failed. Looks like they stand behind their products if you get a bad one.

Your reading comprehension is clouded. What it says is that the Trijicon went back on the rifle, after two other scopes (brands) failed. The Trijicon didn’t fail.

I’d be interested in what your definition of “hard use” is.

It’s well known the plastic internal of some of the Swaros is very fragile and not repeatable.

Aside from the aforementioned durability concerns, both scopes you mentioned have too much magnification for SFP.

I’ve had great experience with several Swarovski scopes. No complaints, and lots of tags filled.
I had some issues with a VX6 returning to Zero so I got rid of it, and I have had Leupold scopes lose zero from time to time.

I just read that they updated the new HD2 version with the Mk5 Erector system, which has performed well. I suspect the newest Leupold will perform well. There’s only millions of them out there. They can’t be Junk, despite what the RS Cult will pile on, like clockwork, on every one of these threads.
