Hey guys, been a member for a while and have appreciated the info ive learned without having to ask any questions.
Im planning on getting a seekins element in 7prc for muleys/elk and long range plinking.

The 2 scopes above are what ive narrowed it down to. Ive only used vortex and leupold and want to try a higher end optic. I also want to stay sfp for this setup

i know the swaro just came out so i might not hear much just yet. I also need to find a store that carries both for me to handle.

If it comes down to a price point. I can get the nx8 at a really good price.

Thanks gents

At face value, the NF is a known/working tool. Swaro has been questionable at best, including the X5. I, like many, have high hopes the Z5i+ does work, but I would not be the first to money down on one over a NF product.

I’ve own a Swarovski Z5 and a few NX8 2.5-20’s.

As already mentioned the Nightforce is durable in zero retention but has finicky eye box and eye relief. Mounting can also be an issue but the scope has very little forward and rear mounting tube for movement. It’s overall a good to great optic whose thin reticle designs are its biggest issue especially in FFP form. This is less of an issue with SFP but I also would never want a 20x SFP optic when most field use is happening around 10-12x.

Swarovski is a gorgeous scope to look through but historically they are some of the most fragile scopes on the market. I love Swarovski glass on my observation optics but they are no longer my choice to aim bullets. The Z5i+ is largely an unknown quantity right now but its lineage is not very durable.

If you want SFP and Nightforce I’d point you towards the NXS line with 4x erectors and less high end magnification. SFP NX8 scopes are the wrong solution to the FFP NX8 reticle’s being poorly designed.

That’s a big apples to oranges comparison. Not a fan of the little NX8, especially in SFP. If considering the NX8, the 4-32 is the better option but then you’ll want FFP.

The Z+ Swaro is simply unknown.

If you want SFP. Look at the NXS 3-15x50 or 2-10x42. No, you don’t need more mag.

Thanks for the input, ill scratch both those scopes off my list and hope the z5i+ turns into a winner and buy later on.

I was leaning more nx8 due to the military discount and the nxs isn't apart of that, but thats not gonna fit my needs it sounds like and i definitely dont want ffp for hunting.( viper pst ffp on my target fun gun)

Any other suggestion for a good scope?

I would prefer that 3ish to 15-18 ish magnification. My mindset was first on a leupold vx6 or vortex razor but figured i wanted to go up in quality for this gun.
