swarovski vs razor big spotter

Has anyone compared these spotters side by side? I just got a pair of swarovski slc 10x42 and it was the best thing i have ever done. I have ran the viper 10x42 and 15x50 and swaro is just on such a higher level in every way. As for the big spotters go, I dont think i can ever justify several thousand dollars on a big spotter, but swinging 1500ish is a reality of what is decent. any thoughts?

No comparison. The 65 swaro beats the 85 razor in every category, the bigger swaro will trounce it. This is coming from a guy that runs an 85 razor.

My buddy’s Swarovski ATS HD 20-60x65 is definitely clearer than my Razor 20-60x85.

I set up my Leica next to a guide's Swaro ATS a while back and the Swaro had a little more light during low-light at sunset. I'm not sure if it was worth spending a chunk more for the Swaro because they were pretty close. Mine was a little less bulky and lighter weight...which I like! I used to haul around a Leica 80 and am super glad I switched over to a 65. The 65 is WAY smaller and lighter weight. There were times I didn't want to haul around the 80 and now I never leave the truck without my 65.

I run the razor 85 and would trade my left but in a heart beat for a swaro . The razor is good enough but is out done in every way by the swaro

I'd just keep you eye open for a deal on a used swaro, they come up from time to time around that $1500 mark.

If you can't go swaro, the meopta meostar/cabelas euro is a darned good scope for the money..

It is a fairly small group of hunters that really NEED top tier glass. Having said that, most hunters want it and it is really nice to have. If you are looking for THE ONE goat, sheep, whatever...then packing top glass is worth every penny. If you are just hunting for your meat buck then any old Vortex will do. Vortex just isn't in the same league as Swaro and the other high end glass companies and to be fair I don't think they are really trying to be. If 1500 is your range I'd look for used glass from Swaro or Zeiss.

There is a Zeiss Diascope T-FL 85 spotter listed in the optics classifieds right now for $1400. Bright and clear...scarily so. I'd take this scope over a razor all day.

There have been several Maven's for sale of late as well which is also fantastic glass for the money and represents an improvement over the razor...generally for about the same money used.

Sure, Swaro, Leica, and Zeiss will beat the Vortex Razor 85, but the Razor is still very good. I am seeing the earlier 20-60x85 model new at $1000 a few places.
