Swarovski Spotting Scope Mount Question

Disclaimer: I feel like an idiot for even asking, but...

I recently picked up this used Swarovski ATS and am having trouble mounting it to a Sirui TY-70A adapter plate. I bought both used and had Sirui send me some new 3/8” threaded screws for the spotter mount. Problem is I can’t get it tight enough - the screw is too long or I’m missing some sort of spacer or something to eat up that addition space.

What am I missing?

Put a couple washers under the bolt head. Unless that makes the bolt head protrude out from the bottom.

Sirui just likely has generic screws they send out to cover a wide range of equipment.

Personally, I’d shorten the screw in order to achieve a flush fit between the adapter and base.

Does the spotting scope foot fit directly into the arca on the tripod head without the plate? But I would surui has shorter screw...
