Thanks, looking to get a better tripod for my 95mm, but had to not go super heavy, or spend a shit load of $$$$$$$

That looks like a nice tripod, but pretty spendy!

Ya I got a great deal second hand. Seriously Look at a amazon basic carbon fiber tripod I’ve heard decent things and they pretty much copied the gitzo

The only issue I had with the ME 1.7x was the loss of light transmission because of the high magnification. Other than low light, it served it's purpose.

Can someone tell me the weight of the 1.7 ME? I couldn’t find it online.
Thanks

looking to get the BTX with the 110.. or the 95 with the 1.7 extender. anyone have any thoughts on the set up? besides the obvious huge size of the 110 for packing in and out... seems like maybe the 95 with the 1.7 is close to the 110?

The 110 is actually a 115mm objective making it 20mm bigger than the 95mm objective and it will be brighter. I sold the 95 to get the 115 so I could not do a side by side comparison but I never found the 95 to be dark with the BTX but did find it to be dark with the atx at high magnification. The BTX with 115 is beautiful but I have not tried it with the ATX. I have the 1.7 extender but usually forget about it while glassing because the BTX is excellent without it. Im trying to get out to play with optics and if I ever do ill do some comparisons and report back. Fatrascal.

thanks. so you like the 115 ALOT more...
Yes I do like it more. But I do not plan to pack it anywhere except in my truck or side by side for scouting or glassing for fun. The BTX also works great with the 65mm but I still do not pack it. I use the 65mm with the ATX for backpack hunting. Fatrascal.

Got out to my backyard this evening and compared the ATX with and without the 1.7 magnifier. I found that it was very bright using the 115mm objective lens while not using the magnifier and while using the magnifier as well and image with the eye was stunning while looking at a cell phone station at what I think is 2 and 3/4 miles away according to Google. I took some digiscoping pictures through the scope with and without the magnifier. I had a problem with the digiscope adapter. As I would tighten the adapter down on the scope I could see the picture on the phone come into awesome focus but when I would let go of the phone and let the adapter take the weight of the phone, then the phone would sag ever so slightly but changing the focus with some blurriness. I had to really crank down on the tightening wheel to try and keep it from sagging. Nevertheless I will show you my pictures.

All views were definitely better looking through the scope without the camera and were beautiful. The phone camera definitely diminishes quality but I'm sure I could get decent pictures of a buck or bull. Fatrascal.

Likely buying the STX eyepiece with 95 mm objective, and ME 1.7 magnifier, tomorrow morning. System to be used for glassing from the road.

Any recommendations on the BTX eyepiece?
Any recommendation on the 115mm objective?

This won’t be for backpack hunting.
