Swaro Spotter Case Advice?

Finally pulled the trigger upgrading to Swaro ATX 85. Bought once and want to make sure that I only cry once and not again if I break it on the mountain.

Anyone have experience with different protective cases? Swaro stay on, marsupial, mystery ranch or others?

I have the Swaro stay on, on my Atx 95 spotter. I like it. I also have the Outdoorsman case to carry it and the tripod in when traveling. It's a great setup.

I just purchased the ATX and 85 - ended up going with the Swaro stay on cover since I could get it quick before heading out on my hunt. It's definitely spendy, but seems nice for sure.

No case for me. It has rubber armor. If hiking in pretty far it'll go inside a pocket of my pack. If not it'll just get strapped to the pack already attached to my tripod ready to rock and roll.

In the field, I just use the Kowa stay on covers for my two spotters.

For travel, I have a Maxpedition large wine bottle case that fits my TSN-554 w/ stay on, perfectly. Looking for something similar for the TSN-884 that I just acquired. The Outdoorsman H.O.S.S looks interesting, but I question its durability. Might be worth a try at $50 bucks, though. I wish the Mystery Ranch case would accommodate larger scopes...

Not 100% the same, but I use the Marsupial for my BTX.

I like the flexibility of being able to throw it in the pack and not worry about the eye covers popping off, or strapping to the outside of my pack with ample protection.

Update:

I just received the Outdoorsmans B.O.S.S., and my Kowa 884, with stay on case, fits perfectly inside it. I think it's going to work very well as added travel protection.

As a bonus, it's got a thick lining of wool and should make a great hand warmer muff with the addition of a Hot Hands chem pak or two. I'll find out next month during NY deer season.

How do you like your H.O.S.S. ? I'm surprised that product doesn't get more mention here.

@Dos Perros

I would highly recommend. Together with the Kowa stay on cover, the TSN-884 stays cozy and well protected.

As a handwarmer, it is also excellent. During a month long deer hunt in the NY Catskills, with temps frequently in the teens, I switched it in and out with a Hunter Safety System muff, which I've had for years and dearly love. I found them both equally effective with a pair of chem packs in them each day.

For the price, and with it's dual purpose, I feel it's a great piece of equipment.
