My son is looking into selling his "My old Trinovid" and upgrading to either a used set of Swaro EL's or used set of Noctivid.
I have El range and love them but he doesn't need the range finder option as he has a nice rangefinder.
I would like to hear what others say on differences.

I’ve owned both and wish I could justify keeping both.

El pro’s:
Better edge to edge clarity
Field pro objective/eye piece covers
Price
Swaro customer service/warranty
Outdoorsman stud compatible

El cons:
Less depth of field
More glare when viewing into the sun
Less desirable focus wheel

Noctivid pro’s:
“Warmer” viewing experience
Tougher armor/build
“buttery” focus wheel
Superb glare control
Better depth of field

Noctivid cons:
Price
Edge to edge clarity
Not outdoorsman compatible

I’ll preface these are my opinions. Some may disagree based on experience.

I have a pair of swaro el’s and have no complaints. The viewing experience is amazing. The Leicas I have looked through are also spectacular. I am sure you cant go wrong with either. It might just come down to price.

That’s choosing between “incredible” and “unreal”. Price and user preference will drive it. They’re both awesome.
