So the thing has the ability to sense atmospherics. It’ll read temp on its own. So my question is when doling ballistics and giving an adjustment figure in moa or Mrads, is it taking into account the atmospherics that the binocular is sensing? Or it is only taking into account the data you entered into the ap and transferred over?
 
App data is transferred as your zeroing conditions and it then takes your "current" atmospherics to calculate your shot.
It does? I hope you’re right. Is that verified any in Swaro literature? Which atmospherics does it take into account? Just temp? Elevation? Thanks.

It reads station pressure and temperature.

It also uses the angle.
 
Barometric pressure and temperature is a more exact way of measuring air density. Elevation is used as an approximation of barometric pressure.

Interesting. Never heard that assessment before. I guess I need to research that.

What I was trying to determine is when I go hunt at higher elevation, do I need to manually input a higher figure via the ap on my phone, or will the binocular itself sense and adjust for the change?

No need. The unit is measuring station pressure. It likely measures temperature but doesn’t use it for the ballistic calculation, as it already has station pressure.

The unit does not measure barometric pressure. It measures station pressure.

Edit: you don’t have to change anything. The binocular does not need to know what elevation its at because it is measuring the actual pressure at its location.

Makes perfect sense. This difference was what I was trying to wrap my brain around. Thanks.
 
Has anyone actually tested the ballistics solutions versus say a kestrel or other known accurate device? -Are the solutions reliable?

To me, the tracking assistant feature is near worthless. I don’t see the value in that gimmick, but if it accurately an instantly solves for ballistics (accurately accounting for current relevant atmospherics), with one less gadget, I’m sold.

"I inputed the same ballistic information into the EL Range TA that I have in my Kestrel and Zeiss RF. The three devices would consistently give MOA corrections within .5 MOA of each other, with the EL Range TA and Zeiss RF usually being within .25 MOA of each other, even when ranging at steep inclines and declines."
