Swaro EL 8x32 with SV vs New NL Pure 8x32 - Need Opinions

Hey fellas,

Looking to purchase a set of 8x32 Swaros for archery elk and tree stand whitetail hunting. Looks like I can find the EL SV 8x32 for about $1500 or the NL Pure 8x32 for $2200. Which direction would y'all go?

I don't do any tree stand whitetail hunting, but I do hunt archery elk. None of my hunts are particularly glassing heavy. I think you would be very pleased with the ELSV and having some extra cash in your pocket. The NLs have some marginal gains that others may be able to describe in detail, but for your applications, I don't think they'd matter much.

Of course, if you'll always be wondering what could have been, the NLs seem to be the best of the best.

I had EL's and now have NL's. For your use, the EL's will be fine. As mentioned, the NL's have very slight gains. You'll be very happy with the EL's I believe.

Thanks y’all. Does anyone know how many generations the ELs had before being replaced? The set I was looking at is Gen 2.

In the EL's I'd look for the ones with (SV) Swarovision, it was a nice upgrade.

I think Gen 1 ELs did not have SwaroVision. That came in the Gen 2 ELs. I have both the Gen 1 ELs and the NLs that you are deciding between.
Go with the ELs.
Especially if they happen to be be Gen 2. Either way the EL still gets more time (with me) than the NLs. The NLs are way better the the old ELs, the ELs are a very comfortable old friend..

After having NLs for a while, any EL that I pick up fees like a brick. Optically both will do you superb. Ergonomics NL every time.

I sure like the NL10x32's I have. They optically out performed my 11 year-old Swarovision 10x42's in my tests, and really like the ergonomics and wide field of view as well. Used them a lot this fall and would buy them again in a heart beat. Not the NL8x32 or EL8x32 though.

I bought the NL 8x32s right after they came out and have hunted with them from the east coast, to the mountain west and Alaska. If money were a big concern I would still save up the extra money and get the NLs. They are a purchase that will be used for years and years so the price is not that insane if you hunt a lot. They are the best 8x32 available right now.
