For 10x42 EL, are there alternatives to Outdoorsman’s stud?
I’m not thrilled about prospect of altering the bino, although I realize that it is probably the most efficient. Among non-permanent solutions, Swaro’s branded adapter with the strap is awfully steep, compared to others like Leupolld, BOGgear, etc.

I’ve looked at others but after having the Outdoorsmans installed on two pairs of Swarovski’s they seem to be the best and don‘t affect the warrant. Rock solid ! They do a very professional job.

I had the stud pressed in mine. Does not void swaro warranty.

I really like this setup. Paired with the tall bino adapter I can not imagine a more efficient tripod mount system for els. The stud does not interfere with hand holding glassing. Rock solid mount. No play or slop in connection points.

When you spend nearly 3k for this optic it makes no sense to me to skimp on a tripod mounting system.

I'm sending in two pair to the Outdoorsmans tomorrow to get the stud installed. I've done it with other bino's and its the cats meow. With that being said, Swarovski used to make what I called a winged bino adapter. You stuck it up through the center of the bino's and then it folded out over the tubes. It didn't look like a great set up and I thought I was going to break it but it worked great for about 10 years. I forgot it up on the mountain two years ago and it was too much of a hike for me to go back after it. Wish I still had it. If you could find one then that might be an option for you but I haven't seen one for sale in again, about ten years. Fatrascal

I have both the Outdoorsman (short) and Swaro tripod adapter/stud setup for my 10x42 SLCs. I prefer the Outdoorsman since it's significantly lighter, compact, and half the price.

I've been happy with my Outdoorsman Stud on both my EL's, but have subsequently heard that Kramer Design (KDC) also has a stud that can be pressed in. From the limited research I've done, it sounds like a solid alternative.

I’ve got one of the mounts like fatrascal posted a pic of. If you are interested feel free to shoot me a PM.

Been using a Bog Pod for the past two years. Modified it last year so its smaller and has a webbing strap rather than the rubber strap which helped quite a bit.

But my binos will be getting sent to Kramer Design after turkey season.

Once mounted, does the bogpod or older Swaro mount allow you to adjust interpupillary distance without disturbing the aimed field?

Really Right Stuff recently released a binocular mount. From what I've read people are having good luck keeping it on the binos and them still fitting into chest harnesses. I'm running SLC 15s on a tripod but I'm probably going to end up getting one of these for my geovids.

Those Swaro brands allow for the center of binos to sit directly above the center of tripod, which permits extended panning to be less fatigue than use of the Outdoorsman stud. (Explained in another post in this Optics forum). Plus, you don’t have to spread and refocus the binos, like you have to do when slipping the binos over the Outdoorsman post.
