I just finished hunting this year with my tikka roughtec 6.5CM with a 24” barrel. I purposefully didn’t take it on the dark thick timber elk hunt but on my open country deer and cow elk hunts, the length wasn’t a problem.

Hunting suppressed is so worth the extra weight. It allows for follow up shots if needed and the animal(s) have no idea what is happening

I got the CB version im hoping I can have them make it into direct mount ?
You can do it yourself, just apply a little Loc-tite (or rockset if you want a more permanent fix) to the threads on the CB and screw it into the Ultra 7. Voila, direct thread!

And actually, if you shoot it a bit, the carbon will cause the CB to stay in the suppressor pretty well.

Here is my 6" can on a 24" Barrel. I carry it "under" my arm with the Barrel strapped to my shoulder strap and the but of the gun on my waist band using the kuiu gun tote or what ever it's called. It's really not bad for hiking. I actually use the Barrel as a stabilizer when glassing free hand with my 12x bino's. 20211018_125424.jpg
