I don’t think this thread exist yet but please point me there if it does.

Question is about suppressor mounting system. I am building a short barrel magnum. This is going to be a dedicated back country hinting rig and the can will be dedicated to the rifle. Ive called a few suppressor shops about various questions and one or two advised a brake mount, but some reading on here (RS) has me thinking direct mount. I do have a couple of suppressors already, so I think I am getting the distinction between the mounting types (i think). So my question to the roksliders is which mount type? I think with a brake it will need to be timed where a d.t. will not? Maybe thats partially or sometimes correct? If its a factor I am really leaning towards the nomad ti xc.

Direct thread, I have a brake mount on one rifle, and it's coming off this weekend and going to stay DT.

A mount/or not a mount (Thunder Beast CB) and muzzle device can give you some confidence that your pieces won't come undone if your suppressor comes in contact enough to loosen. Direct thread can give you the lowest weight.

A Dead Air 5/8x24 mount is going to be about 1.62oz-1.75oz. Their Xeno mount and flash hider is about 4.83oz

A Dead Air Nomad Ti XC with 5/8x24 mount will be about 9.58oz.

Most muzzle devices will add at least an ounce, plus the mount.

If you have reasons to want a muzzle device and mount, as minimal as you can get, Rearden publishes their mini 5/8x24 as 1.2oz and their titanium mount 1.2oz. Rearden also makes direct thread mounts that they publish as .72oz. There are other mfgs making titanium mounts as well.
