Couple options under $500 that will do what you ask. Harvester EVO, some out there for under $400. It is a prior model made for hunting/PRS type use but semi-auto rated. Good solid .30 cal. can and fairly light.

AB A-10 7.62 size for under $500, better choice for heavy use as it is full auto rated. OCL makes some similarly priced stuff too, as do many others.

I like the hub system so I can use any mount I want and switch them around. About the only time I don’t want the hub is for a dedicated use can for one rifle. The Scythe and other titianium cans are very sweet on bolt guns, but quite a bit more $. OCL does have a titanium one under 5” and 7oz w/o mount, the Hydrogen K.

I was where you are at about a year ago. What I finally did is limit my decision set to what’s in stock after I ordered a Scythe and waited and waited. So I got a Harvester EVO in a couple weeks, used it, and like it a bunch. Scythe showed up 3 months later and it is a modest improvement in every way, but 2x the cost. Use them both and like them both. Thinking about another EVO just based on $ for performance.

Looked for heavy use 5.56 cans, went with the OCL Polonium, heavy use rated and can use with 6mm. Also comes in a .30 cal and a K (short) model that suppresses less but offers less blowback gas for AR use, says the marketing dept. I’d probably look at the .30 cal or K model if planning on heavy AR use, trade some noise for less gas. Mine are the 5.56 regular one used mostly on bolt rifles. Very good for that. AB A-10 would be another good and maybe better option here too. All in the just under or just over $500 range.
