Suppressor for hunting/long distance bolt rifle

I’m in the market for a suppressor to put on my 6.5 Grendel and have a few questions….

First of all, what is the smallest caliber suppressor that can shoot a Grendel round? I am seeing mixed things online about this. Some say 30cal, others say 7.62, or 6.5.

Second, I’m looking to get a suppressor that isn’t going to break the bank, but is also good enough to be able to shoot 300+ yards accurately. I used to run a Griffin Armament Recce 5 on a 5.56 rifle years ago in my professional career. Awesome can and good accuracy, but never pushed it past 200 yards since I was only running a red dot. Does anyone have any recommendations on a can that can be used for distance shooting that isn’t over a grand? I’m leaning towards sticking with that I’m comfortable with, being the Griffin. But I figured I ask for everyone’s opinion before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance for the help.

My Resilient Jolene S goes on my long range 6.5CM and it has been out to 900yds many times. It does not affect anything other than sound suppression.

It is hard for me to quantify. It does reduce some as it is a full back pressure device. Its regular spot is on top of my 18 pound 6.5CM which does not have much recoil. It is plenty enough to be able to spot my shots out to 900yds.

I’m sure you know it has to be rated for at least a 6.5mm. But a 30 cal can on a 6.5 works vg and has the added benefit of working for smaller and larger bore sizes. For the $, in a 30 cal can, I’d see if Harvester EVO’s are still in the pipeline for close to $400 ish. There were some for under $400 a month or so ago from Capitol Armory iirc. Older design, moderate weight, and works well.

No expert at all. So many options it gets bewildering. I grew tired of waiting for a Sythe to come into stock, so ordered an EVO, now have both. The EVO works, the Sythe works more better with less weight. If I could not find a great $400 ish deal on an EVO, I might grab an AB-10 in 7.62. I see them for just under $500. There could be better options out there I am not aware of. I am new to the can game, less than a year.

If you get a 30cal can you can run it on most other guns. If you get a 6.5 can, one, there's not as many of them, two you can only shoot 6.5 and smaller but it SHOULD offer a bit more sound mitigation.

A dilligent enticer STi would be one of my top picks. Any decent can you find is going to be just fine. Don't get cute with muzzle devices and QD mounts and your accuracy and repeatability should be fine.

For a hunting can I'd recommend no longer than 7" and titanium to stay well under a pound of weight. The SiCo scythe is another good one or an AB Raptor 8. There are a ton of good cans out right now.
