Illegal in CA so nope. No real interest either. I like traditional bolt guns.

You would change your mind about them if you’d try one. I always offer my rifles for random people to try at my local range in hopes that they gain interest. I always run into “curmudgeon-y” old timers who look at my suppressed guns with a “my old wooden/blued bolt action 270 has taken game for 30 years and I’ll never change” type of glare. Then the open minded buddy they’re with lights up with excitement and takes me up on the offer. Once the Fudd gets behind my gun they learn a few things about having an open mind. #1 suppressors are in fact the bees knees, #2 a good trigger and quality optic may be in their future , and #3 don’t judge new rifle trends as just a fad.

Again, they are illegal in my state so it’s a non starter. All my rifles have good triggers, and optics, and most have quality synthetic stocks. I just personally fight the overly tactical stuff. I don’t like the looks mostly, and some of that stuff crosses my personal ethical lines. I’m mostly a Bowhunter anyway. I like to actually hunt, not just snipe animals from a mile away.

I will add that I am not a fan of cans on Magnums. The recoil pulse is too long to spot my own hits. So a 6.5 PRC is about as large as I will go with a can.

I'll second what Ryan says about magnums. Was using a suppressor on my 338 Terminator and had difficulty even spotting my own hits at 1200 yards. I put a muzzle brake on it and at 477 yards I was spotting my own hits at 25X

Was nice using a suppressor and being able to shoot without dust blowing up everywhere and be comfortable shooting without hearing protection.

Boy that real traditional.
Also seems like you like to put other people down on the internet just because it's something you dont prefer.

I ordered a GAP. Jager 6.5 model,
for my 6.5 Element. It has a 21” bbl,
I wanted a lightweight/short model.
This one only adds 4.5” & is 7oz.
Gives me a good option.

An out of state move could solve all your problems... lol but in seriousness, what scope do you use? Some may classify your good rifle scope as “overly tactical” when they are an open sight rifle hunter.

We all have different thresholds for “overly tactical”. For me, I want a suppressor for hearing protection but have no use for the 25x zoom “tactical scopes” on my rifles that other use very effectively to hunt with

Nowhere did I put anyone down. I just stated my own personal preferences.

I’ve got scopes of all makes and types. Leupolds, Vortex, Meopta, Swaro, Zeiss, etc. but they all have standard duplex reticles and 1” tubes as that’s what I prefer. I’ve got no love for a 24 oz scope with a busy reticle. I’d rather spend my time and effort figuring out how to get closer than trying to calculate moa and wind dope. That’s just me. I like to shoot, but when I want to test my equipment and skills, I shoot steel, not flesh. Again, that’s just my own personal ethical constraints. Doesn’t apply to anyone else and certainly not meant to offend anyone.

Saying you like to actually hunt and not snipe from a mile away, definitely has a negative connotation.
Unless you really actually meant that in an upbeat positive way. Cause if sounds like you are implying it's a bed thing.
Were I believe it just being a more effective hunter.

No connotation intended. In a perfect world, what I like best is a 20 yard shot!

I have a Octane 45, Varminter 2.0 and a Suppressed Armament Arbiter MX. Both long gun cans are 30 cal. I love shooting with them, tough to shoot without them now.

Not sure where you live and how it works buying a can locally from a dealer out of state, but I am lucky enough to be in the Denver area and can drive to Mile High Shooting and those guys I believe are one of the, if not the #1 distributors for TBAC. I have bought 3 TBAC cans from them and have always walked in, they have what I need, do the paper work and walk out.

I also think TBAC keeps an instock type list with retailers on their website if you or anyone is trying to track one down, you can see who has what instock or on order. Could be helpful for someone.

I also highly recommend Mile High Shooting, but again not sure how the transfer and all of that works with the NFA suppressors...I’m sure it’s different than just buying a rifle and having it shipped to a FFL.
I buy mine direct from thunderbeast.

Not many local people carry them..

Your purpose in posting on this thread again? It seems like shitposting at its finest.

If you don't agree with something our feel the need to pointlessly virtue signal, there's plenty of space on twitter and Facebook for your brand of bullshit.

Start with a 30 cal can if possible, try to find a range that will let you try some out before you buy. Lots of ranges carry demo models. Then keep buying them. You won't want to shoot with out one.
