My tikka T3 308 barrel should arrive at Kampfeld Customs today to get cut to 16.5" and add the shoulder adapter similar to this:

Now I'm looking at cans. Really like the ratings on the enticer L-ti. Its a little longer than the S but even with that, I'm still damn near at the original length of the barrel. Buddy of mine just received his omega 300 and I plan on trying it as soon as my barrel returns. What do you recommend for 308 with short barrel?

I just went to the local shop and they had the Nomad L-Ti xc and Ti xc. $1149 and $1049. With the adapter, the L-Ti did seem long but wasn't that much heavier than the shorter version. It looked like it you go direct thread on both, it's about 1.5" longer. Weight was hardly noticeable and being I'll be in a stand and not carrying this around, either would work. I guess the question would be is there that much noticeable difference in sound between the two?

Go shorter, you ain't shooting that much and it'll knock off enough of the noise for ya. I have the older nomad ti and it makes my .308 sound like a .22

Ok, now another question. Are you guys using direct thread? Keymo style mount? which looks nice and could allow to swap to different rifles. Or is there anything else im missing?

Friends don’t let friends use keymo. Go direct thread.

Coming from a guy who’s first suppressor was a sandman s

Go peak over at pewscience. There are several great cans out there. Depends on your overall length requirements and material.

If it’s going on a tikka- go lightweight and around 6 inches or less. resilient suppressors Jolene S comes to mind. But CAT is another great company - the JL is stupid quiet, just a bit long.

You could look at Unknown suppressors offerings as well.

Lol. Duly noted.

Enticer line is hard to beat! We have a few in stock right now if you’re looking and have another dozen or so of all models that will be here later this week. I would personally go with an S or STI to keep it shorter.

Enticers

Nomad Ti XC is a great can as well! Like @Ajsomp said, check out PEW Science and silencer summit to see what else is out there and hot it performs.

For mounts I wouldn’t recommend Keymo. Rearden/Plan B or Xeno will be lighter with fewer issues.

The enticer L-ti black was actually the 1st can I looked at.

Right. After looking at the nomad l-ti at the local shop i was contemplating it being too long. But anyway. This is my Low Light setup it's going on. T3 Lite, Schmidt Bender Polar, barrel sent off and will be cut to 16.5" so and additional 8-8.5" isn't completely out the question. Barrel length would be 24.5 - 25" total. So not too bad.

It will be on this rifle 90% of the time. I also have another tikka 308 in 20" CTR that I could also swap too.

And im also building an Ar15 in 223 wylde with 16" barrel that i can put it on as well for the time being. Both Tikkas are 5/8-24, and the Ar is whatever I want. Haven't bought barrel yet but have everything else. I know it's not ideal, but it'll knock enough sound out for what im doing with it.

So really it's for the 2 tikkas but mainly my Low light setup.

This is an updated version of the spreadsheet I made for myself when I was shopping for my most recent suppressor. I was trying to decide if the Nomad Ti XC was the right can for me. I ended up getting an AB Raptor 8 and 10 instead. There are a couple of .264-only suppressors on the list, which obviously won't work for your .308.

If I were you, I would get the AB Raptor 8 w/ 3" reflex, the Reaper, or the Nomad Ti XC. Even adding 6-6.74" to your 16.5" barrel, it will still be very handy at ~23". If you want a shorter, louder suppressor, then the OG is a viable option. Bear in mind that while 133 dBA is comfortably hearing safe per OSHA standards, it should sound twice as loud as a 130 dBA can (because the decibel scale is logarithmic). Trying to go below the mid 120s is pretty futile for supersonic ammunition, since the sonic crack is in that range.

The only suppressor on that list I wouldn't get is a Scythe Ti. There are too many SilencerCo cans in general, and Scythe Ti's in particular, blowing up.

I would consider the US OG. I have 2, and they work as advertised. The US Reaper is another one I would consider.

I am 50% Thunderbeast and 50% other manufactures I didn’t like. If TB does an OTB then I am all in. If they don’t jump on the 3D printing program their business will suffer. Interesting times in the suppressor business. The TB is like buying a F150. It will do 90% of what the average person will use it for.

Lots of good recommendations here.
