Only vote if your suppressor has failed and detail below. Because baffle strikes can be caused by issues in the rifle system outside of the suppressor itself, please do not include them as a “failure”. The purpose of this thread is to keep a count on weld failures or other issues that arise with specific suppressors.

(Brand, Model)

1.the cartridge
2.barrel length
3.round count

Please define a "failure." Do baffle strikes count?

I had a baffle strike on my Sandman which was almost certainly user error.

Have a Dead Air Nomad TI weld failure on a .223 bolt action .223 20” barrel.

Had run it on everything from 6.5 cm - 300 wsm

300 rds appx count

Took dead air 11 months to fix it.

I bought a CGS Helios QD that was threaded incorrectly and wouldn’t accept the rear caps that came with it. I had to pay for shipping it back for warranty service, which annoyed me, but it was fixed quickly. That’s not a catastrophic failure, but it’s enough for me to look past CGS in the future when buying another suppressor.

AB Raptor 8, flush mount, 18” 270 win. Blew the end cap off, less than 10 rounds through it. Good customer service they had it for maybe a day or two. Put a couple boxes of ammo through it since and it’s all good.

One annoyance about the whole ordeal is since it was going back I decided to swap out the reflex is came with to a 5” sporter barrel reflex. When I got it back it was a 5” bull barrel reflex so I chose to send the entire thing back a second time. The good thing was they didn’t charge me for the reflex swap, I assume because they already had it due to the warranty claim, which I appreciate. I did get clobbered on the shipping and insurance twice. Overall I’m satisfied with how they handled it.

Only suppressor I have ever had personally fail is a Surefire RC2 on a Mk18. It blew out the side of the blast chamber wall while I was running a shoot house. I have no idea what the round count on that suppressor might have been as it had obviously been used before it was issued to me but I know I had used it for almost a year when the incident occurred and I would estimate that I had put somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-10k rounds through it at that point, not exactly sure but I do remember having to get the gun serviced in the armory and it getting at least a new bolt and gas tube. Mostly fired rapid semi auto but I would guess that maybe a 1000 of that was fired as full auto. Ammo was a mix of M885, Mk262, and Mk318.

Also no idea if surefire fixed or replaced it as I just turned it back into the armory and got a new one issued.
