I've been hem hawing about getting a suppressor for several years now. last october i finally went for it and got a silencerco harvester. well, the sot called recently and said my stamp was in and i could come pick it up. it was a surprise and took me a moment to understand what he was saying. i drove down on my lunch break and finished all the paperwork and ogled her the rest of the night. with my tikka in dallas getting threaded, i had to put it on my kimber for its virgin voyage. after a little bit of target practice i've come to the conclusion that i won't be shooting unsuppressed so long as i have an option. the sound was greatly reduced on the 17" bbl 6.5cm but still noticeable without ear protection. the family was down range/ adjacent about 600 yards away and behind part of the mountain. they said they never even heard a shot. for me, the most noticeable thing is the concussive forces are negated. with my work, i use explosives regularly and shoot about 350+ rounds from a howitzer a season. all that has hurt the hearing and created almost an anticipation from even low recoiling rounds. the suppressor fixed all that with just a half inch of threads. so my disappointment lies with myself in not doing this sooner. the cost and wait were worth it....even though it should cost less and be no wait at all.

I'm waiting on my second one, currently at 14 months and counting . . .

that's ridiculous. how long does it take for a background check for anything these days? fwiw, i can use explosives without a background check for 6-8 months before the ATF finally decides if i'm fit to handle explosives. so long as the company is current you're good to go. it works that way every 3 years and for every new hire.

I’m patiently waiting for mine to come in! Was approved almost a month ago and no stamp yet. Chomping at the bit at this point. 😅

i'm told 45 days is the new norm after approval. they are shipping in batches. mine got lucky and arrived in 3 weeks.

also if over 30 days i believe you can request an email copy to get yours out of jail.

Rugged Suppressors are hard to beat! The mounting system is a patent system. No point of impact shift, modular capabilities in most models, easily remove the end cap for quick swap if you have a strike, and UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY.

From the time you submit the paperwork, you guys are waiting a few weeks or a dozen months?
few weeks after approved. 6-12 months for the whole process on a form 4. form 1 (build your own) is about 30 days.

My first can took 14 months. My second can has been almost 12 months, the best part is that the shop “forgot” to send in the paperwork in June of 2019 and just sent it in last month.......so another year of waiting because someone can’t do their job.

they are solid for sure but way overbuilt for hunting applications. i like lite weight since i'm using pencil barrels and lite rifles. for a target gun, rugged looks great.

I’ve so been there. Sucks.
