With the addition of chopping this down to 16" and getting the mil version of the Trijicon, this is the best advice in the thread so far.
At the end of the day there is absolutely nothing wrong with a 215gr Berger hybrid in a 300wm that he is already shooting. That is one of the best 30 cal bullets producedIf you want a blood trail, and you want to track it so bad for some unknown reason, get some dogs and shoot the thing in the guts and have fun running around the woods.
If you don’t want to waste your time on all that nonsense like the rest of us, do some real research about bullet construction and ballistics. Then actually go out and shoot what you’re going to hunt with,a lot. It shouldn’t take you long to find the truth. Or keep losing animals and eating tag soup, doesn’t really matter to me.

The heavy for caliber go-to 6.5 bullet is likely going to become the 153gr TMKSo you guys are using the 147 eldm over the 143 eldx in the 6.5s?
Maybe I need to drive up the road and check that 6 um out![]()

905 yards with a 6 UM. Died in 10 seconds. Not sure why you'd need a bigger bullet. Impact velocity of about 2035 fps.
Whys that? (Without completing research on them)The heavy for caliber go-to 6.5 bullet is likely going to become the 153gr TMK
I am.. and havnt had any issues yet.So you guys are using the 147 eldm over the 143 eldx in the 6.5s?
I see that in the faster 6.5’s. But for the CM, especially a short barreled 6.5CM, I think it will be hard to beat the 130TMK.The heavy for caliber go-to 6.5 bullet is likely going to become the 153gr TMK
Typically people tend to use heavy for caliber bullets in the bigger powder volume cartridges thus faster by default. A 6.5cm isn't even on my radar. If I was to shoot a creedmoor it would be a 6mm but at that point might as well just go 6um in either shoulder option.I see that in the faster 6.5’s. I don’t get these comments to questions or post. Like why so confrontational? Dude asked a question and now in your story he’s running around the woods losing animals and eating tag soup because of some narrative you’re spinning up all on your own just because someone shared something or asked a question on a forum of all places. How dare they.If you want a blood trail, and you want to track it so bad for some unknown reason, get some dogs and shoot the thing in the guts and have fun running around the woods.
