Any of you noticing the accuracy of your rifle (mine is a tikka t3x lite) decreases fairly quickly after a couple of shots?

My barrel at the muzzle gets pretty warm after two or three shots and then it starts throwing the bullets high. This would happen unsuppressed as well but not as quickly.

I'm not complaining. The tradeoff is worth it. Just takes more time at the range.

No but to be fair only one of my rifles has a tikka lite contour but others aren't much heavier.

what kind of verification do you have to know the heat is causing the issues?

Is your barrel free floated?

How are you measuring this? Not trying to gaslight you but maybe its an issue with your zero/ group size shot to get a zero making it look like things are moving when the gun just has a cone of fire not a laser beam. As mentioned in the linked thread many people have a cold bore issue but most guns actually dont.
How high is high?
What kind of accuracy do you think your gun regularly shoots?

Eta: i do have an ar10 with a pencil barrel that shoots noticably worse - 2moa to 4moa over 15 shots - with a suppressor than without. Doesnt string just opens the group.

You sure it's not a mirage issue? Depending on the temp/wind, I have issues with a 6.5CM and a titanium suppressor after just 2-3 shots.
Can you expand on this? I've been shooting a lot this summer and I have a titanium suppressor as well. I'm noticing a mirage after a few shots. When it gets bad I usually just let everything cool down... Are you saying that when you shoot with the mirage through your scope you are noticing higher shots on paper?

I'm not sure if it's necessarily higher, it's just inconsistent. The point of aim is harder to pin down. I'll settle in and feel like I'm on target, then a gust of wind pushes the hot air off the suppressor and I'm no longer where I thought I was. On a windy day it's less of an issue. Mostly I just shoot 2 to 3 rounds at a time before letting it cool, and with that third shot I might have to fight through some mirage to see where I'm actually pointed.

I am also new to suppressors, so not a lot of expereince, but in getting up to speed had a mirage issue, and have been experimenting with point of impact with and witrhout the the suppressor. Gun is a tikka lite as well.

First trip noticed tons of mirage after only 3ish rounds. This made a big difference, in order to keep groups normal I had to let it cool a lot. My gun really doesnt walk at all when the barrel gets hot without the suppressor. I bought a LS Wild suppressor cover. It weighs like half an ounce and slides on. I had a heck of a hard time getting it on, but once on it has more or less completely solved the mirage issue, for 10-round strings it's now comparable to mirage I'd get off just the barrel.

I DID notice the point of impact shifted about .5mil when I remove the suppressor, but it goes right back to zero when you put it back on. Havent really shot it with a loose suppressor, but it's also possible that would cause erratic groups.

I have not observed this with any sporter profile with any suppressor. I will keep an eye out for it this weekend when I shoot some longer shot strings with my 6.5 CM.

It’s mirage off the suppressor.

6 inches at 400 meters. I'm shooting off a bench in this case, so I should not be getting such a big variance. Cold/ cool barrel I'm kissing a 2 inch square as long as the wind doesn't screw with me. My wife's savage lady hunter behaves very similar as the gun heats up.

Current temps may also play a role. Hard to cool a barrel when it's 85 degrees and sunny outside. I have a lot of time behind this gun so I'm comfortable with what it should be doing. I'm using my own handloads, which have been consistent for several years.

The suppressor has a cover on it to deal with any mirage.

I'm going to set up at 100 next time and fire ten shots through it without cooling to see how it behaves.

Again I'm not complaining. The first few shots are money, and that's what I need for hunting. I shot a bear this spring, first time suppressed. An absolute game changer. The hunt this fall will be fun.

What is it chambered in?

Suppressors on Tikka lite contours causing accuracy issues from the system is not a thing.

Suppressors on Tikka lite contours causing shooter accuracy issues due to mirage is a thing.
