Has anyone compared the accuracy of their 22 LR, shooting suppressed versus without the suppressor? Did accuracy improve with a suppressor? What distances were you shooting? What rifle/suppressor/ammo were you shooting?

I've been shooting suppressed 22LR since the mid 80's. I think, the extra weight helps any 22 sporting rifle with accuracy. Furthermore, it might help some and not others. The gas travels faster then the bullet so suppressor design might be a factor. Then you might have people that actually think it won't help and others that say it will. Take your pick. I say it will.

Using a YHM Phantom on two good quality CZ rifles, I'm seeing no difference in precision at 50 yards using SK & SK+ match ammo.

I have not observed any difference. My CZs all shoot great either way. I am the limiting factor, not the rifles.

I shoot a fair amount of 22lr with a homemade (form 1) suppressor. K baffles, 5.25” usually with CCI standard velocity. Accuracy is only slightly better, but it is noticeable. I shoot out to 300yds with 22lr.

I just tested 16 different varieties of 22lr and i don't have the data in front of me but as i recall more than half shot better groups with the can than without. Some of the exceptions were CCI mini mag and CCI pistol match. Eley Match and Lapua long range were unaffected and shot about the same size groups w/without a can. These two also had the lowest ES and SD, SD was under 3fps for both suppressed.

My suppressed bolt 22LR is accurate enough for me to take head shots on turkeys, rabbits and squirrels out to 50 yards. I won't hesitate. It's a savage Mark II. It does the same thing without the suppressor. If I recall, it shoots the same on paper with and without. It's zeroed for sub sonic ammo.

Orange dot target is unsupressed. Black dot target was supressed the following weekend lol

I can’t notice a difference in accuracy but also not shooting groups. Just plinking, steel and small game (rabbits, porcupines, red squirrels, grouse, ptarmigan)
