What are you guys using these days training and hunting? I have two knees with three surgeries between them with one more issue away from a replacement on the right. Anyhow, I have tried a few types of MSM/Chondroitin but never fully satisfied until now. I have been taking Schiff Mega Red Joint Care and it has been very good. It is more of a hyaluronic acid and krill oil mix that is in a small sized pill instead of the usual horse pills. Also, try Ester-C instead of plain C and it will save you some intestinal issues and I feel it works better on joints.

I have been looking for an alternative to WA products (Hydrate and Focus) since it seems pricey for what it is. Any suggestions w/o all the sugars?

Love Honey Stingers and standard Clif bars while on the trail but wished the wrap wasn't some noisy on the HS's. I avoid any bar coated in chocolate because it just becomes a melted mess.

I use many things to help the joints. 1 Pain free, 1 glucosamine sulfate, 1 fish oil and a slug of something in a bottle with glucosomine and chondroitin. Overkill I am sure, but it is keeping me going. During the season I will use the Hydrate and Recover, as I seem to recall it has some glucosomin in it and during season all bets are off on what I can chug down, so it is lots of Vitamin Naproxen and the drink stuff. Foodie stuff I live on all kinds of stingers, cliff shots, cliff blocks and other goo type stuff from Rei. And always a Snickers, or something of the sort as chocolate is my one vice for sure:)

I have had seemingly good results with MSM/Glucosamine/Chondroitin pills and Fisol. Last year I started eating the Honey Stinger waffles and really liked them as an alternative to gels. The best energy bar I've found is made by Hammer Nutrition. They make a cranberry one that is easy to eat, moist, delicious and provides easily-digestible quick yet sustained energy -definitely my go to energy bar.

Gels get hard to choke down due to the sweetness. I'll have to try the Hammer bar. I am seriously looking at the Osmo brand for hydration.

Ross - give the Mega Red a shot and you might be surprised what a little pill can do. It has been a fountain of youth for me.

My joints are reasonably good, but I do take Joint Support (Herbalife) and have tried the WA joint product. I do find the HL product pretty effective for me. I do take several of the WA products. Love the "Superman's" with a hangover (one scoop of H&R and one scoop E&F)--in about 10 minutes you are ready to rock and roll. Works even better without a hangover. WA is running a special on the combination of package through Monday. If I am going to be at any elevation, I take the H&R, E&F and Altitude Advantage. As always, interested in something that gives me more bang for the bucks also.

I gave the Osmo brand a try and was very happy with it. The have a pre-load, during activity and post-activity mix. It is not cheap but seems to work well. Since taking the Mega Red, I didn't have discomfort in my knees on the descent this past weekend. That stuff rocks.
