It will feel different according to Superfeet's design philosophy. IOW, they're supposed to feel that way. If the support is where we are generally accustomed to it, it is also underneath the plantar fascia which can increase tensile force on the fascia and aggravate associated symptoms.

I received an early sample of SuperFeet designed for hunters -more cushioning, less expensive with different support sans the extensive plastic under heal and mid-foot. I tend to snap SF in my Scarpas and Meindles, I'm thinking this new design will help. Not sure on exact release date, but I can provide more if needed. They do have ScentLok on the top cover, won't help much, but it's there.

Can you post up some photos or no?

well, I finally was able to get to a running store and try on some different brands. I think I've found one that will give me the arch support in the right spot for my feet and also has some good cushion: Powerstep Archmolds Maximum Heat Moldable Shoe Insoles. I tryed them in the store in side my boots and they felt great. I know the proof will be how they do on the trail with a load on my back but I'm hopeful.

I had great luck with blue superfeet until I realized the plastic ridges on the bottom of the insole will eventually cut through the goretex. No superfeet for me anymore

I've heard both sides of this story... that it can happen... that it probably won't... did it happen to you?

Yes, had them cut through both boots on my last pair though it did take a few hundred miles with a pack. Would be willing to try them again if they have a new design but too costly for me to give them another shot as is. I'm currently using cabela's meindl cork insoles but the sizing on them is super wide and I'm not totally sold on them. I'm considering trying the Lathrop & Sons insoles before I get too far out in the backcountry again.

Ok good to know. I had them in for about a week during work...just pulled them out and ordered some lathrop and sons. They didn't feel quite right anyway... Feels like the tibets have enough support built in for normal feet so I wanted more cushion. I love the blues in my other shoes tho.

lathrops are super cushy but offer no arch support. They didn't work well in my tibets because of my moderately high arches...

I had the same problem with their inserts in the cevedales. My first hike with them I got a pain in my arch/heel. Not sure if it's plantar fasciitis or not but it bothered me for a few weeks. I put my superfeet in them and they feel much better. I was going to order another pair of superfeet but I see a lot of people are having problems with them cracking.

I have moderately high arches as well, but haven't had any arch pain in the field... Only what I thought was impact pain on balls of feet. Could you pull the plastic off a superfeet and add the synergy on top for the best of both worlds?

I never tried it but I don't think that would work.
