Hi Guys
wondering if anyone has experience with both the Canon Powershot SX60 and the Lumix DCM-FZ70?
Both these cameras are about the same price and both have 60/65x optical zoom which is awesome.
Mainly looking at using one for photos but some filming as well.
The canon has an external mic port which has some advantages but apart from that I dont know much about specs ect to tell what might be better.
Anyone had bad/good experiences with these cameras?
Thanks

Hey JP,

No experience with those cameras specifically but from what I understand the panasonic has a great low light sensor. I've used Sony super zooms till now and they have been great except for the low light performance. Have just bought a Panasonic TZ70 so will see how that goes. The Sonys also don't shoot in RAW. The only reason I haven't gone to the next level zoom that your looking at is the bulk of the camera. The smaller 30x zoom cams can fit in my hip belt pouch so are always handy.

Hey there mate, i was in the same boat about 8 months ago. So many options i didn't know which way to go. I have no experience with those cameras but i finally settled on a panasonic fz300 on some great advice from a close mate.he had the earlier model fz200 which is still one of his favorite cameras and produced a cover shot for a mag last year. He has a few cameras and he is right into his photography. It is great for low light with the f2.8 the whole way through the zoom range and 4k is awsome. They were the two biggest selling points for me. The images look great. As its only 24× optical which =600mm ,you can get a ×1.7 tele lens for it which is well worth the purchase.
I noticed that nikon are just about to release a very similar camera which zooms to 500mm.
I'll try and post some pics shortly taken with my camera.
I hope this helps a little and good luc with your camera
