kinda why i brought up bounty gate. really? a saints fan talking about character and class? ( restricted to the nfl of course, not a personal attack) your head coach was paying guys to end peoples careers! but yeah your right. Sherman said some mean words in a cookie monster voice 5 minutes after winning the biggest game in his young career after a week of hype and shit talking about how much the two teams hate each other. way worse

And for the record, no one's career was ended during the Saints bounty scandal. If you want to call people classless for participating in some bounty program, you would have had to call the whole league classless a few years ago. The Saints should have stopped doing it when they were told to do so with the rest of the league. Whether there's a bounty in place or not, that same talk goes on in locker rooms regardless. I heard it spoken personally in locker rooms in high school, college, and minor league sports. It's safe to say it went on at the pro level and still does (ie, go knock this guy out or target this injury). Now back to our regularly scheduled program of hating Richard Sherman

There's a difference between talking shit, which everyone does, and being disrespectful, which is what Sherman does time and time again. If it ended at talking shit, I wouldn't have a problem with the guy. When he goes up to Crabtree and gloats, I don't like that. When he rubs the play in with a choking sign to Kaepernick, I don't like that. When he makes a point to kick people when they're down like calling someone "sorry" and "mediocre" on a national stage, I don't like that. When he calls people "ignorant idiots" for picking against him, I don't like that either. When he claims that "he's better at life" than other people, I don't like that either. All of those things have come out of his mouth at points in time when there were zeros on the clock. I have no problem with shit talking, again everyone does it. Not everyone makes it a point to be a disrespectful d*ck which is what he does. Not sure how much clearer I can say it. Because of that, I've cheered against him long before the Seahawks have beaten the Saints (and yes, they've owned our ass). To me, I like nothing more than seeing loud mouth, self aggrandizing players get humbled and Sherman is the leader of that brigade right now. I'm not alone in this opinion and if you feel like his reactions are a breathe of fresh air, more power to you. I think they're unsportsmanlike, disrespectful, rude, and unnecessary. But hey, I'm not playing for the Super Bowl!

Again, if you think he was going up to Crabtree to wish him truly a good game you're kidding yourself. He has a history of gloating, self aggrandizing, and treating opponents with disrespect. Go back and see what he did to Tom Brady. Go watch his interview with Skip Bayless from last year. It's not about his trash talk (which everyone does). It's about his willingness to share his opinions about himself at the expense of others (including teammates) and about how he carries himself when he wins which is anything but gracious. I can promise you a vast majority of the players in the NFL feel the way Sherman does. Yet you don't hear the same stuff coming out of their mouths. Those are the problems the public has with Sherman. I know he's well educated, I know he does good things in the community, I know he's felt slighted many times throughout his career, and I know he's probably the best corner in the NFL. None of those things are at issue.

Thanks for the well thought out response. I saw some ignorant comments, and wanted to set the record straight. I would like to see him tone it down, and maybe he will as he matures.

I appreciate that. He's come out and apologized for his comments after the Niners game. Like I said maybe someone got in his ear and he's realized he doesn't want to be viewed this way by the public. I hope it's true. Honestly, I'd be a huge fan of his if he showed some humility and graciousness. Time will tell how much he wants to change his ways!

I know he got a talking to from Pete Carrol for it, so maybe that will help. It helped Golden Tate tone it down some. Personally, Wilson and Baldwin are my favorites.

cant wait for sunday.. usually hate loudmouths but love Sherman. GO HAWKS! Sounds like he is going to make a lot of money of his rant. Lots of people loved the raw emotion of the moment myself included.
