Summer Hunt?

Personally, if I had the full freezers you do I would throw a 2 week long cookout and invite all of us.

I'll be doing some PA spring gobbler a few weekends in May. You can get 2 tags in PA and there is a pretty strong number here.

If I had time to kill and wanted to travel I would go scouting where I plan to hunt this fall.

Done the hog thing to death, and as for the bear thing, worst tasting critter I ever killed and ate (or tried to eat) and mine was a fat fall bear loaded with blackberries and instantly dressed and cooled on the first day of snow. trimmed all the fat off and it was still disgusting. Unsure how I feel about HF for exotics usually hunted in Africa. Have done canned hunts for bison (not fenced as big bulls can go right through em) cuz I prefer it to beef and don't have a problem with those who do HF but unsure how I feel chasing exotics in a zoo. Even if the property is 5000 acres it's still a kind of preserve.

Maybe I should have said "canned bison hunts" where you are basically buying a whole free-range bison (not a tag) on the hoof and killing it for the meat. That can actually be cheaper than just buying bison meat outright and can be a tough, time-consuming job. But HF is a different gig. i dunno, maybe I'm wrong.

The other consideration is cost. My 25th wedding anniversary is New Years Eve and we're hosting a 70K party for 180 guests (my wife's idea). (((sigh)))

So budget is an issue for my vacation. How do I get 6 weeks off? Self employment. The rest of the year i burn 75-90hrs a week for the first 3 weeks of every month. If I didn't take a summer vacation to decompress, I'd end up going bonkers.

I have May 20th thru July 4th off every year but outside of predator calling and hogs haven't found much in the way of domestic hunts. Most seasons begin in Late July and thereafter. Am I overlooking anything? I prefer archery for big game.

Also New Mexico Aoudad hunts, but would want to go as soon as you were done working....it starts heating up towards the end of May!!
