Looking for a hunting light for getting out of the woods at night, so nice and bright and into the stand in the morning colored lens I assume is best? I'm not sure what's better for mornings red or green? Suggestions please

I have a Petzl Bindi. This is a backup light only. I do have the Petzl Reactik+ which I do use fairly often. However, every one of my packs has an Energizer headlamp in it. They are a great value. I do have a couple of them that have white, green, and red light which gives me options.

Black Diamond for me too. Just bought a new one couple months back my last one was ten years old and was still working just as new. I missed placed it after an ice fishing trip so I picked up another one.

I've got a Black Diamond Spot and I'm pretty happy with it. Decent battery life and it's plenty bright.

I have a BD storm 350 and like everything about it, especially the green light for dark woods walking, but mine burns through batteries. I don’t know if there’s something wrong with my particular unit or if that’s just how that model is.

Thanks,ordered the BD Spot
You’ll be very happy with that. Spot and Storm are both great headlamps. I love the dimming feature and who would ever buy one that doesn’t lock? I’ve found more than one Petzl in my pack with dead batteries because it turned on by accident.

I always have 3 head lamps in my pack. One small petzl in my kill kit, and two coast rechargeable lamps in my main pack.

The FL75Rs are very bright and rechargeable. The beam is also adjustable from wide spread to tight focus which is great. Also has the red beam setting and thicker head strap which is comfy.

If you want ridiculously bright they make an 85L which is 700 lumens.

All of the headlamps mentioned and recommended above are made in China ☹

I have several headlamps and flashlights from Princeton Tec, they are outstanding quality and made in USA.
I use EOS on my hardhat at work, the thing it great and the one I currently use probably has over a thousand hours on it.

Last season I carried my EOS and a Remix in my pack. I tended to not use the brighter light.

I have a few other headlamps that reside in the door pouches of our vehicles that see constant use. We have given Princeton Tec flashlights to all our kids and grandkids for years. This year every kid, grandkid, niece and nephew received a SNAP headlamp. They are versatile, cheap and bright https://princetontec.com/product/snap/.

Princeton Tec has a tactical line that is pretty cool too...

I’ve been using their dive lights for years and I one time sent a 10-year old light back to them to get a replacement lense (scratched), they sent a brand new light no questions asked.

Princeton Tec is Made in USA 🇺🇸 goodness

Princeton Tec are great...had an Aurora for years, loved that thing. Got a new one incoming on Amazon, hopefully their quality is still the same...

Good to know. I’ll have to give them a try.

I have used a lot of lights in the last decade and by far my new favorites are from NiteCore. Everything they make is pretty darn solid.

I have a couple Petzi's that have always worked well, one used as a backup if trekking long distances. They are super light weight and not very bulky so take up hardly any room in my pack. I like a red light in situations where game may spook when they see bright lights coming. It's nice having both hands free with headlamps!

I have Black Diamond, PrincetonTec, and Coast...the Coast 2-pak at Costco is awesome...used to be like $16 for two headlamps with red, green, and white LEDs...awesome for the money...

Nitecore NU25 works great for me. I have replaced the headband with shock cord. My Petzl is my backup. Most everything I have is now rechargeable. Much easier to manage than spare batteries for everything.

OutdoorgearLab.com has a good review on head lamps. And yes there are only a few made in the good ole USA! I am gonna buy an American one for sure!
