i cant believe its still a law. The entire premise of the idea has largely been proven to be a ridiculous theory.

orvis clearwaters are pretty good for $300. I wouldn't go that far with discount waders.

Can’t go wrong with Hellbenders. Get some Simms vibram boots though.

I have never owned stocking foot waders and am assuming a person can just wear some old/cheap shoes or sandals with them?

Lost Creek waders with an old retired set of (oversized) hiking boots have always worked great for us. We fish the Kenai river hard every year, and I've been impressed with the durability to price ratio of the lost creeks when compared to other high end brands. I usually get 2-3 years out of a set, but I do a lot of sliding in/out of the boat and filleting fish in them so cuts are inevitable.
