Just finished up an incredible hunt in Montana and we managed to knock down a few good bucks! They were all on public land and we hunted hard to find them, putting in 14-16 miles a day and grinding it out till we found some shooters. The big 4x4 went 160", the non-typical went 190", and the heavy 4x4 with the extra went 157".

Nice bucks! Were they rutting or scent checking? Buck I shot this past weekend had 8 does and was running bucks off.

It was a good trip! We passed a lot of bucks, some we probably shouldn't have but it definitely paid off!! Tgos spot has treated us well over the years and as always saw some giants. Got a few more pics of mine.

Nice bucks! Did these take any points to draw these units? I’ve been looking into some Montana hunts and have very few ideas on where to go.

They were just general tags, we apply as a group typically and have had great luck with it

Trying to decipher the Mt regs, looks like general deer tag is good statewide and for either sex? I have downloaded the regs and maps of the units. A coworker goes to Fort Peck most years and another guy is trying to talk me into going so trying to figure out what, when where etc.

Piscatory, its not good for every unit in the state but the general is good in about 85% of them I believe

You have to look at the specific zone area, it will tell you what’s good, for what area, at what time of year.
