So I have a few pieces that I my weight loss has made baggy. Good problem to have. I do like base layers to be form fitting, I have the following that I'd like to shrink down to a L size from XL:

First Lite Wilkin 65% Merino 35% Polyester
Kuiu Ultra Merion 140 Zip Off Bottom 90% Merino 10% Polyester
Kuiu Peloton 130 Zip Off Bottom 100% Polyester

Would a normal delicate cool water wash and then tumble dry on medium-high heat be a good starting point?

I am laundry illiterate btw.

The wool will shrink the most when you put it in the dryer. The Kuiu polyester probably won't shrink much at all, and if you dry it on too high of heat, might partially melt the fibers causing it to deform. Better too big than too small.

Anything with wool or cotton in it will shrink in the dryer. 100% poly doesn’t shrink in my experience. The blends will shrink some depending on heat and % wool. For instances we always run my wool blend socks through the dryer at medium heat. I like them shrunk down to a snug fit every time they are washed.

My icebreaker wool has shrunk a ful size in 2 seasons from minimal gentle cold wash cycle and hang dry.

This use to be my merino top. Haha. Success on shrinking it. Wouldn't even fit the dog.

Came across this thread searching for anyone who's done the same... I have a ULTRA Merino 210 bottom I need to "down-size"... were you successful?
