What are you guys having success with for sub $200 cell cams that are available? The new Covert WC30 series looks pretty intriguing with good specs. No reviews out there at all on this model however. The very mixed reviews of the Spypoint Link Micros make me hesitant. Obviously the Reveals are good, but always out of stock. What else is worth looking at? Only looking for Verizon network.

We got 6 of the new browning defender ridgeline cams for right @ $200 and I’m very disappointed in them. They might be the best option out there if you have great service but they are flat failing to communicate and sending super pixilated pics on the same land where we haven’t had these issues with RidgeTec, browning defender and defender pro-scout, and spypoint link dark cell cams. The worst part is they don’t have a screw odd antenna you can upgrade.

Haven’t looked at covert cams too closely because of poor reviews on their detection circuit.

Tactacam seems to have this market cornered but I’ve never tried one because they don’t offer a no glow version.

Cell cams are a frustrating and addicting beast. I’ve had some level of headache with every one I’ve tried. Even heard don higgins is saying their $600 reconyx cell cams are missing a bunch of deer.

Not saying it’s the answer but from a budget perspective I’m running standard browning cameras with a SPYPOINT cell-link. I started out the experiment with cameras I already had and Dicks Sporting goods has the cell-links for $40. Add lithium batteries and a mini SD card to the price.
On the Browning you have to take a dremel tool and notch the door for the cord to run to the SD card slot.
So far its been working out well enough that I just ordered 3 more cell-links. We'll see how it turns out at the end of the season.
I've got Link Micros and I won't be buying any more of them, I'll keep the 2 I have in rotation, one has been down all season because the Fresnel lens has been out of stock until now.
