Looking to upgrade my Irish Setter Vaptrek boots. It will be used year round and I'm kind of leaning towards uninsulated but not 100% sure.

Right now I'm looking at:

Crispi Nevada Legend GTX
Crispi Valdrez
Lowa Tibet GTX

What do you guys think?

I use the Lowa Tibet GTX, I'm in east Idaho so during the winter my feet do get a bit cold but not so bad it cuts trip short. In the warmer months my feet sweat in the lowas and I got tired of the weight of the boot pretty fast. I love the boot for heavy packs and colder temps. it has its place in my closet but they do get used much less than my lighter pair of boots.
I also use the saloman 4D GTX for the warmer months, I love the salomans because they are light and sturdy. although I did have to goretex warranty my first pair of salomans. (they were only water proof for about 6 months) The second pair seems to be holding up.
they both have their areas of expertise, I have no experience with crispi, but I can attest to the lowas are a bullet proof boot. They have had many back country miles in tough terrain and took care of my feet.
hope that helps.

The legend is a great boot that will provide some insulating factor with 200 grams of thinsulate. You can wear this boot all year long. Great ankle support very comfortable, waterproof and limited breakin. Check out review and pics during my time wearing them last year.

Not many of us can get by with a "year round" boot for outdoors use, OR year round work use for that matter ? I have Lowa 400 gram GTX, Tibet non-insulated GTX, Rangers and Renegades - If I were held to one boot it would be either the Rangers or the Tibets - For work, construction and maintenance, I wear Renegades pretty much daily - ALL with either GREEN superfeet or Heal That Pain insoles

I'm using Salomon 4
I got em black Friday for $140

Plenty flexible for everyday
Hunting in Az Desert with them

Living in utah mountains with them

The boots you listed are all good boots. You really have to read up to see what you think would fit your foot best and give it a try. I'd also throw out there: it my be worth looking into 'non hunting' type boots. Asolo and La Sportiva are two of my favorites for backpacking, mountaineering and also hunting. I've put a ton of miles on 3 pairs Asolo Fugitive GTXs and one pair of La Sportiva Trangos over the years and they hold up great. Plus, you'll save a few hundred $$ to use for other gear, ammo, arrows, etc.

I have worn my Crispi Valdres working, hiking and snowshoeing all winter with gaters, they're uninsulated and my feet have been fine,my schnee's pack boots have not been out of the closet once.

I just got a pair of Crispi Valdres, really liking them so far. I think they'll be amazing once I get them a little more broke in. I'll probably look at getting a pair of Nevadas down the road as well.

All the boots you listed as well as the recomendations given are known to be quality boots, but if they don't fit your feet properly they are trash. Not sure where you live, but if you have a mountaineering store or backpacking store with knowledgeable staff go there and have them fit you, this will save you from torn up feet and hundreds of dollars in the long run. Don't get caught up on any certain brand instead focus on fit. If you don't have access to someone to fit you Zappos and rei have good warranty policies, order multiple pairs try them on in the house for while and see what fits.

I'm going thru this process now. Got the Tibet's and Sportive Karakorum thru Amazon. I usually wear 10.5 or 11. Got the Tibet's in an 11 and my feet swam in them. The LaSportivas were just a bit small but I like them. Returned both and will size up the Karakorum. Both boots are very solid well built boots.
