Stuck Elk Calf

While out setting trail cameras and doing a little terrain scouting I came across this little fella.
Mom was standing over the water hole, she didn't look to worked up, couldn't have been there long.
Water hole dropped straight down off the edge about 15" and then the water was maybe about 15-18" deep. Not really sure if it was actually stuck, or cooling off, but I had to give him a pretty good push up to get him out. Momma circled back around to come back to him as I walked off.

Great! Glad mom stayed cool. I wouldn't try that with a moose mom.
