Recommendations on sun clothing/hoodie?

The Eddie Bauer Costco sun hoodies discussed on another thread have been nice. No complaints. Good colors. Good price.

I’ve also been using this Amazon find for last 2 years: slightly thicker weight yarn, but not as dense a weave. Very light and airy, and has held up very well to abrasions. The “rescue orange” color is pretty bright, but not a true blaze/hunter orange. The yellow, is pretty close in color to my brothers rural firefighting shirts. https://a.co/d/006Y8RqX

If you like natural fibers, the Kuiu merino quarter zip sun hoodie gave about 2 years of good wear before developing holes under bino straps. But very comfortable. https://www.kuiu.com/products/ultra-merino-145-zip-t-hoodie-valo-camouflage?variant=40536254972062

I've been pleased with Kuiu's tiburon line. I would highly recommend researching hood designs because you really, really need face protection when you're sitting and glassing for long periods of time. Otherwise, you'll look like your face has been belt sanded. Please don't ask how I know this. A substantial portion of my posterior is still growing back after the ass chewing my wife gave me when I returned home from a spring bear hunt.

Sitka equinox guard & core lightweight hoodies have both worked well for me

Two thumbs way up for Simms Solarflex hoody.

I have 3 of them and love them for wading the flats in hot places to rowing the drift boat on sunny days in AK.

The hood is really well designed and large enough that it doesn’t feel restrictive in anyway.

The sleeves are long and come with loops for your thumb and middle finger to keep the sun off of the backs of your hands.

Awesome shirts.

I’ve used simms solarflex hoodies for awhile. I’ve also seen lots of guys using hoodies from free fly apparel which seem pretty nice. I’ve used a kuiu merino 120 hoody which I like a lot too but it is heavier than a regular sun hoody.

I was just thinking I needed some new sun shirts...

I have a couple from Shelta. I really like them, but the material is slightly clammy.

The original Kuiu Gila was perfect for me, but I don't like the new ones as much.

Howler Bro's seem to be popular with the fly fishing community, and come in some western patterns.

The gohunt approach is really nice for cooler weather.

Marsupial has a nice material, but the fit and hood cut are kind of funny.

Thanks for asking this question, OP. Lots of good suggestions here, which I plan take advantage of as well.

We pretty much live in them down on the Texas coast all summer so I've tried darn near everything. I like the AFTCO stuff and Columbia is usually good and surprisingly the Magellan the boys got me for my birthday is absolutely excellent. My biggest issues with any of these sun hoodies are the sleeve riding up and the hoods not staying on. Right now the Magellan is the best but it's got a built-in face mask so I only wear it in certain situations because I don't like it bunched up around my neck. I might buy a second one and cut the mask out. Kuiu looks great but hood flies off if a mosquito flies by and wrists are always exposed. I got a Huk with front pockets that was my favorite forever, actually arrowed a sleeping 6.5 year old 8 point while wearing it, but after about 15 years now it's finally wearing out. I have the Kuiu Sonora and a Gila and can't say I've worn them more than a couple times although I do wear the Sonora while actively bow hunting in the heat.
