Finally running out of the .022 Brownells Diamondback I've been using since who knows when and need a replacement. What's a good replacement serving material?

Power grip or 62xs

I’ve been toying with different sizes, and I’ve found you can get much more consistent results if you have your string maker build a string that requires a .018 serving. It’s easier to keep served tight, and the odds of d loops or nock sets causing separation is less. I’m of the opinion that the serving itself is only part of the equation, the string is extremely important in whether or not the serving will do it’s job.

Angel Majesty .018- just ordered some from Lancaster and its my new favorite so far. Has a little stretch and knots burn great so far. Better than BYC material so far.

Powergrip .018, but it depends on what nock I'm shooting.

Still in the hunt for a perfect recipe of string material and serving size to fit Beiter 12/2 nocks.

Last year was the first year I started to give much thought to creating a perfect nock fit. I realized that there's a wide range of nock throat size and final nock set diameters out there. For example, a standard Gold Tip .166 nock was pretty firm on stock Mathews strings, perfect on GAS stock strings, and completely falls off without engaging on 60X strings.
