Stove help...

Okay so I'm starting to put together my sleep/shelter system for next year. I'm first purchase will be a stove and now I need to decided which one.. Cylinder or box... from what I can tell the cylinder is obviously lighter than the box but it seems that the box is a little more rugged. I'm looking at getting either a Kifaru Smith, Liteoutdoors-titanium-stove or the Seek Outside box stove. One of the things I also plan on using this stove for is some outings with my son during his upcoming years in the Cub Scouts. I'm just looking for some input from you guys that do run one.

P. S. The stove will be used with a tipi.

hi buddy,i have few stoves,2 square ''box'' and 2 cylinder stoves(2 are DIY),i really like my para stove in my paratarp from kifaru. You need to think what youll do with it most of the times,is it for heating source or cooking or both? I found cylinder stoves easier to pack down in a backpack and also found than i have more heat with a cylinder and more air tight. My parastove leaks from the bottom and top sometimes but no big deal, just play with the damper and keeping the door close most of the times.Liteoutdoors now comes with titanium rods on the top so you are able to cook on it easier and a freaking awesome huge door but unfortunalty i don't have this door on mine. The only cons about the liteoutdoors 18'' stove is the fact than you still have a 18'' long shape to pack into your bag,its long and sometimes i have hard time to find a place for it vs my 12'' but you can burn bigger log with it,the 18 is the perfect size in my opinion for everything. The other CON is it doesn't come with a collar/damper,yes a damper but youll have to put it in the pipe and i really don't like this method plus youll have a wrap on the body if you burn it this way,it come from the weight of the pipe who push on the stove and the damper's handle.I bought a SO collar/damper for this problem.
When i am going solo and light i take my paratarp and parastove and when i am with a buddy i bring my 4 man S0 tipi with the 18'' liteoutdoors stove. If you want to save money DIY is an option,i done a 12'' with the kifaru Smith style...easy to do.Theres my video of the liteoutdoors, sorry for the bad quality and i am speaking french so please give me a chance guys :)I'm suck at videos lol.

Second the box stove for ease of cooking, especially if you have several people in the tent that all have a pot to get on the stove. Have been using three Kifaru stainless stove for nearly 10 years and they work great. If I didn't already have those, I'd get the Seek Outside titanium box stoves as they are nearly half the weight.

Like are TI goat large wifi stove. Like to place a large flat stone on top of the stove. Wind get so crazy worried that it will flip the stove or pop the stove pipe out. Never had it fall over or pop out just peace of mind I guess

Thanks for the input. I've decided to to go with the Lite Outdoors cylinder. I like the improved door and especially the titanium rods for cooking purposes. Now it's time to wait for it to arrive.
Again just wanna say thanks to everyone who has chimed in on my topic. I really appreciate everyone's comments.
