More of a thought exercise… Buddy and I are sussing out the opening morning plan for the weekend
Two or three options

1- Split up and completely cover a previously productive mile long meadow, if we don’t sit it someone else will.

2- Split up and cover two productive vantage points, but not be in ideal shooting position for morning hunt, may or may not be in shooting range. . Will def see elk.

3 - Sit the crows nest together and try to make a plan with other people running around during the day. Will see elk, but more people as well.

Unable to scout the evening before.

If the meadow is that productive sit it in the morning then hit the crows nest midday for glassing and plan making assuming you aren’t cutting up elk

2. If you don’t sit the meadow, someone else will. That means there is pressure in the meadow. I’ll pass. Locating elk is the most important thing. Get up on those two prime vantage points and find some elk. Better yet find multiple groups of elk so you have plans A, B, and C.

2 if the elk may be closer/faster to get to than 3. I would not do 1 if there’s a chance that people will filter through during the day and have the same visibility as you for any elk that might show up.
