Stove for Cimarron - TiGoat vs Smith

As the title states - I’m between these two stoves.

I’ve looked at the SO and LO options and while nice, I like the lighter weight of the two I mentioned. It seems like the other stoves are trying to be closer to a big stove with the baffle options and whatnot but I can’t imagine it makes a HUGE difference in burn time. I’m not trying to keep the stoves running all night for warmth anyway, just something for first thing in the morning/before bed drying out gear.

With that said, what has been yalls experience with the stoves in said shelter? Anything to look out for in particular? I’ll likely be going tigoat due to excessive lead time of kifaru.

go the LO and used it last year and loved it in my cimaron. I got the xl it is nice fitting bigger pieces of wood in the big door

I had them both and others. I like the WiFi best of all. Super easy to set up.

I’m with Ron on the Wifi stove. My only complaint with it is the door. When you stock it full of wood and try to choke it off to get a slow burn it leaks smoke miserably. I was able to cure the problem by making a new door out of some titanium foil I had laying around ( an old chimney ). Once I was able to retard the air going into the stove I could completely close the dampener in the chimney without the stove smoking and I was able to get a good 4 hour burn.

I have the Ruta Locura WiFi large size. I’ve had a couple other stoves and the WiFi is the best I’ve used. Ruta Locura and Ti Goat are the same family with Ruta Locura being one of the sons doing his own business. I believe he makes all the stoves for Ti Goat but not 100% certain. The baffle does make a big difference in burn time. The big factor is the fuel. If you can get bigger chunks for fuel you can get burn times over an hour without needing tending. Buy a large stove regardless of the shelter. Little stoves are a pita to keep burning.
