Stove baffle?

If you have ever used a baffle you will notice the advantages.
Keeps fire in box longer which results in more gasses being burned which translates into a more efficient stove, creates a hot spot for cooking, slows embers from going straight up pipe.
I have never have a problem with draft.
IMO baffles are nothing but a positive in any stove if built right.....

I've got the FourDog titanium with baffle. Works great, burns very efficient (nothing but fine ash left in morning), very few sparks come out of the chimney. I just used it again this past weekend. My routine is; get fire going, jam full with wood, leave vent open just a crack. I don't know how long it burns, but it's long enough for me to read a bit then fall asleep. I have the liteoutdoors baffle. It works great, you get more efficient heat since gases have has to travel all the way around to the front and back to the chimney to escape. No sparks at all with a baffle, no need for a spark arrestor. And it sits toward the top you really don't lose much volume - I don't think you'd jam wood that high anyways. The stove stays hot, the chimeny cool.

I really liked it, but we had really punky wood, and after 3 days of burning, it clogged between the baffle and chimney. We were breaking camp that day so no biggie. But when I disassembled the inside of the chimney was a sappy mess. I could not clean it, I tried boiling water and just made a mess. We had to pack out so I just rolled it up and have not unrolled it since (rifle season). I hope it comes apart. My plan is to put it back together and burn really hot without the baffle and hopefully burn it off otherwise I need a new chimney.

I did really load the stove and damper it down to get as long as burn as possible through the night, and it was really crappy wood so who knows. I'm going to try without I just worry I'll be up all night stoking the fire.

I want to say 4 hours. More than I hoped for I was impressed.

Discussion is a few years old but I came across this video in my stove and baffle research, which has a neat diy baffle option at about 9mins for the rectangular collapsible stoves, which the fellow says works great!
