I don't know as I have owned ONE bow, 40+ years ago and never hunted with it. My employment then required a rifle and I was attending college, so, could not have all the goodies I might have wanted.
I do agree on the "business" aspect of this issue, owned my own business and about all I would add here is that the continual drive to improve products, based on profits or whatever, has given us THE best gear I have ever seen in my decades of this sport.
I bought my first "highend" pack in 1968, "Camptrails" magnesium frame, large bag and only a strap from each side as a waistbelt. It was horrible with even 50 lbs and I was VERY fit and packing supplies for my BCFS L/Os. I went back to my Trapper Nelson and then bought-tried many packs and the first to really work was my first Dana Design-Bozeman made.
Now, at 71, rather gimped, I am amazed at how some of these packs make 75 lbs feel "lighter" than 40 lbs did back then!
