Don't have that issue on my SG, but it's as simple as cutting a strip of female Velcro to match that exposed male Velcro.

If you're worried about it, send that pic to SG and ask them to note it for warranty sake down the road if that foam in the belt starts to pop out.

My $.02

What’d Stone Glacier bagel say when you reached out to them with pics of your issue?

I have the same issue on my Krux evo frame. It happened day 1. I called and was told they could replace it with a “new” version that doesn’t have this issue or I could just run a lighter over it. I ran a lighter over the fray and also put some female Velcro over this area on both sides. I was originally annoyed but the frame and pack perform so well I just needed to let go of the aesthetics and treat it like a tool. I can see how it would be a major issue for some people based on the price perhaps it shouldn’t be happening. SG overall heard my issue, offered help and no complaints there.

Thanks! I was curious if my pack for some reason had larger than normal velcro attached or a smaller lumbar pad than normal. I will reach out to SG to see what the new style is and if it’s worth it since I live close to them. If not I will just do what you did!

Update the thread when you find out? I'd love to know what "new" means when it comes to that Krux belt.

CKMT,
Due to customer feedback, we have narrowed that velcro hook approximately 1/2" on each side so it is not exposed and will not contact the spacer mesh on updated belts. We would be happy to help you out with this, there are a couple of simple solutions. We can send you two pieces of 1/2" velcro loop to put on the velcro hook edges so that the hook is not exposed anymore and will not stick to the belt spacer mesh, the spacer mesh can be trimmed of loose threads and hit with a lighter to finish if you would prefer to not send it back to us and do it yourself. We would also be happy to repair/replace if you want to send the belt back to us. Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] and let me know how we can help.
Best
Kurt

Thanks Kurt! I live in McAllister, so not far from you guys. I will get ahold of you soon.

This was my exact experience/remedy on my Krux Evo. Kurt/SG will get you squared away regardless.

Good call all around… packs are a tool, and if it carries weight well for you, worrying about cosmetic stuff doesn’t matter, nothing is perfect, so your solution is practical rather than going a different direction and ending up with a less functional tool.

It would raise an eyebrow with me too having visual wear right off the bat, but if the company stands behind it and it holds up, I don’t care about cosmetics, crazy how many do
